Concerned lifter here,

So, I took two years off lifting due to some lifestyle issues. Now that I'm back, I apparently have hip tightness issues that cause lower back pain. I can lift with the pain and it goes away while lifting, but for the past month my right knee has felt weak whenever under tension. When I go to squat I can feel it start to hurt as I get near parallel, not to mention when I squat deeper. If I flex my quads while sitting the pain also comes out, but doesn't bother me when sumo deadlifting. Any ideas?

Go very easy with the weights. Don't lift for your ego.

Search for mobility exerises and do them every single day. Start very light und don't stretch until it hurts. Making mobility a habit is hard but it really works. Do them every single day even when you don't feel like doing it.

No heavy lifting is worth having fucked up joints in my opinion. When it just doesn't get better after a month visit a doctor. My gym buddy hurt his knee and still lifted heavy ignoring the pain. He can't squat/deadlift heavy at all now although over 3 years have passed and he nearly lost his motivation to lift at all.

recently my right nut would be sore and so today i decided to touch myself and find out why

i found a tiny tiny lump that really hurts when i touch it and now my right nut wont stop hurting

i read online that cancer wouldnt hurt when you touch it

should i go to the doctor? im quite poor

i figure since it hurts i should wait a while and see if my body fixes it

I don't get it, all I want to do is pic related.

I've been stretching 4-5 times a week for 30+ minutes the last couple months (sometimes multiple times a day) and I have seen 0 progress on the end goal. I can still barely do 1/4 ROM bodyweight squat.

At this point all I really want is a coach to identify exactly what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it each session. Who would I talk to about this? Chiro?

Hi /fit/

So there's this guy posting a daily fitness thread on /r9k/ with tips, charts and nutrition advices.
Most of his infos look pretty solid, he suggested a dumbbell workout routine for beginners wishing to home gym many times though, and some people from here might have said it was shit.
Program was :
5x5 military press
5x5 shoulder press
5x5 french press
5x5 rows
5x5 squats
5x5 pull ups

So is it good or not?
Alternatively, what are some actual good dumbbell a beginner could do at home with db and pull up bar?

Boxing general, any others training for their first amateur fight or next fight? What's your training like? How are you percentin your craft?

So my OPINION is boxing is more manly than just lyfting. The boxing culture is amazing and who doesn't want to be a prize fighter or winning fights in front of friends and uploading fights to social media? In boxing your gains are fights with others. If you have a casual work out, there are consecuenses when u fight. Boxing is a skill that takes so much skill: cardio strenth, fess nutrition and will.bonus when you train as boxer your also Training to be great in bed (cardio).

At the moment I'm focusing on anerobics and working out my core and hitting the heavy bag. I believe for amateurs being in shape is slightly more important than "boxing skill" however you still need to kno how to punnch and kno the very basics (jab, right hand, 1-2, moving around)

funny thing though. we do have a lifter who joined our gym.

his cardio and endurance is not there. but he does hit well for his size, just kind of slow.

imo anybody who lifts should try doing more fullbody exercises at higher reps before doing boxing, it evens out the muscle workload and makes you faster.

pretty much the routine anyway:
>squats
>burpees
>pushups
>starjumps
>interval sprints
>situps and crunches
all at bodyweight for endurance

luckily in amateurs, 3 rounds is not enough to wear a guy down, so no point in hitting hard. olympic boxing = game of tag

people who come from lifting should consider the fact that you will get smaller, by quite a bit. i lost 7 kilos in the first month.

What's your favorite meal of the day and what time do you go to gym?

I go to gym early in the morning (around 7am) and of course my fav meal is breakfast. Today I had a banana before gym and when I came back had:

coffee with oats drink
two pieces of toast with whole oats bread. One with scrambled eggs, garlic, pepper and some cottage cheese on top. Another with penaut butter.
Also some jamón slices.

Breakfast, because I usually have the same meal already prepped for lunch and tea 5x a week, vary on weekends and change the meal each week. So for breakfast I can actually have some variety. Had oat+egg pancakes with honey today, really nice.
