I like to have an evening snack of two pieces of toast with avocado spread on them and chopped baby plum tomatoes. A bit of salt an pepper on there and god damn, that's some good eating.
Most of my diet is on point so I don't see the harm in having some high quality bread.

There's to many factors to consider.
Like what kind of workout your body responds best too. Some people will gain more from high weight, low reps and some will vice versa.

Squat form
I squat with dumbbells since my gym only has them plus machines. My friend has no trouble with squats, but every time I go down, I keep my back straight and it makes me stumble or almost fall backwards. I can't seem to squat without falling unless I lean forward (flat back) and push my butt out. If I try to do it with a straight back, I have to push my arms forward or get on the balls on my feet in order to get ATG without falling.
Is this a common problem? It feels impossible for me to do it without overextending my knees or falling over.

There is a surgery that can fix this. Also doing inversions (head stands) and icing your balls will help but not cure the varicocele.

As for the you and your friend, he might store more fat on his arms why you store more on your belly, and the result is what you described. But he might have them developed better, so they pop more. Hard to say.
You should cut out squats and do stomach vaccums along with heavy OHP and DL for abs
Shit like sit ups and leg raises aren't very good and bad for posture
Pullovers using plates are also pretty good for abs
I'd say a good deal if you care about overall strength or aesthetics. There's a reason why bodybuilders isolate abs, and why strongmen isolate biceps for that matter. I think the idea that only a powerlifting or SS-type routine is legitimate is an overreaction to the uninformed novice lifters that base their routine on isolation exercises and don't use compound movements. A lot of these guys probably started out in that boat.
