Probably. You may want to talk to a doctor though depending on what the source of your pain is. I had back pain for most of my teenage years and withing months of lifting regularly, it has pretty much resolved completely.
Bridges (neck bridges, for example) might help.

I'm going through the same thing at the moment, I've had back problems for years and just this year started to work out. I'm still in a lot of pain, but my god does it feel better to have a tightening core, strengthening my back and hips, losing weight, etc.
But yeah, what is the actual problem? "Bad back" is not exactly clinical diagnosis. Do you know what's actually wrong? That's always the first step, and it took me years to find a doctor who could tell me what was actually...

also no idea about your question, but i would get 2x 5kgs, 10kgs and 20kgs to start if you never worked out

How does /fit/ deal with shin splints?
I haven't gotten them in ages because I've been only deadlifting with a hex bar, and only had problems with my shins when I deadlifted with a regular barbell for some reason.

Just read in a musculation book that there's a bench press morphology. Wich is:
> Short arms
> Big rib cage
And it's true when you see all the bench press champions fits these two categories or at least one by far.
I have none of these caracteristics and my chest is actually my weak point.
Is it judicious to replace bench pressing by dumbell bench press ?

It wont make a difference if you replace one for the other, you should add more assistance exercises and add volume. i.e ( db flyes, dips)

Does every kid you train go into 3pl8 squats fairly fast?
Im 19 and just hitting 2pl8 squat after a year.
Ok so just to get this straight. If I want to make mad size gains I should do a hypertephy program over a 5x5. My friend has me going on a 5x5 when I dont really care about the weight I lift. So the question stands, so long as I use progressive overload, I will get stronger even using a hypertrophy program but it will take longer?

Depends on firstly on how long they have been doing it gender and weight (classe). Have 4 of under 18 year old girls that do 3 plates (140kg).
With older teenagers that are new I usually focus on their fitness state with maybe 2 trainings a week with technique and heavier weight trainings sessions accompanied with 3-4 lighter work, and conditioning training.

hey /fit/, I've been consistently working out (about 5-6 times a week) for two months now, and I've seen significant strength gains and a little mass, less than I would like. I'm a little bit fat, 5'10" and 159 lb. as of this morning. A good friend of mine, an MMA fighter, told me that if I wanted to cut, a good way to do it would be to introduce more cardio and instead of 3 reps of 8-12 heavy, do 4 reps of 25 on each exercise. I did it for my leg & shoulder and my back & bicep days, but yesterday on my chest and triceps I absolutely could not...
