If you total anything less than 1500 at any weight then you are a weak casual.
No runners thread and I really need some help. I started running last month and started off fairly slow did 2 days on one off and it went fine for a bit and 2 weeks I got shin splints, ankle pain, and a zapping sensation in my quads. I've been resting for quite a while now and my shin splints went away, the zapping in my quads is very miniscule when I run but my ankle pain is still very prominent I can barely run 50 feet without some serious pain. I don't know if it matters but I have Nike Free Hyperfeels, could it be the shoe that's the problem or what? All I...

If you busted yourself doing 2 on 1 off the. You know that that's too much to start off with. Use what hurts until it's completely pain free and start 1 day on 2 off and instead of just running try 2 mins on 30secs off until it doesn't hurt. Then increase the 2 mins to 3 etc until you can do 5/1. From there run the while time. Listen to your body when it comes to running man. I've had 3 lifetimes worth of injuries from the sport. Good luck

Ice what hurts, not use.
>>37782487
>Nike Free Hyperfeels, don't wear that shit, if your ankle hurts it suggests you have a pronation when you run, you need shoes with pronation support, go to a running store and have them check your stride. look up pronation of the foot on youtube if you have questions. those free shoes will fuck your shit up.
How cum I'm always this Vascular?
Before I lifted I was auschwitz mode and my arms were vein, now that I started lifting I think they are even more vein like weiner.
Has this been a underlying health problem ;_;
>>37782336

>>37782336
some people are just have big veins. go flex in front of some nurses they love that popped tree root shit.
>>37782336
I'm the same way m8. Is because low bodyfat. Vascularity has little to do with anything other than body temp and bf%.

I know that spirituality and god gets a lot of hate around here, but lately I've been feeling empty. I was raised baptist and renounced my faith when I was younger. However, I've been feeling lost and meaningless and can admit that for me personally I do believe in god... in some form.
I don't like this indecision or general vagueness. Not understanding my own faith (whatever it may be) makes me hungry, and the answers to my questions have left me unsatisfied. At this point in my life I've become self-destructive and frustrated.
What do you...

To be honest I don't feel anything spiritual and I think it's all a waste of time to speculate on. I'm just going to enjoy as much of my life as possible and try to make those around me happy and then die and become worm food.
Making your own meaning is better than having it handed to you imo.
I feel the unity of all living things especially humans. Not religious though

I joined my athletics program and I even participated in a few competitions. Then, I got hurt and my asshole teacher made me take some shitty drug to compete without feeling pain. I had to take full rest for one year because of that shit and I stopped exercising altogether.
I went from 6'2 170 lbs to 140lbs. Took me a while to recover.

You have a son. How do you go about making them /fit/, what do you let him do and not do?
>lead a healthy lifestyle with my wife so that i don't risk unhealthy eating habits to mold my sons habits
>integrate him into outdoor activities which I would introduce him to at a young age
>help him find what he enjoys and support him
>entertain extracurricular sports
>training for the sports alone would be sufficient for him to get fit
>>37781886
This. Also:
>force him to take swimming lessons for at least a few years when he is young
>no vidya, go play outside
>do outdoors things (hiking, camping, fishing, etc) with him as often as i can
>spend time outside when i'm home instead of on the couch watching tv
Basically lead by example but also give him a little shove in the right direction. I'd do the same...

Gymnastic/calisthenic type shit and martial arts from pretty much birth.
Martial arts competitions from age 10
Lifting without spinal compression (no squats, deadlifts, overhead work, farmers carry, etc) from ages 13(or whenever puberty starts) to age 18 ( or a height of 6ft, whichever comes first) combined with gymnastics, plyometrics, and martial arts.
Then real lifting.
Lots of squatting, deads, overhead work, olympic lifting (will train form for this from age 13, but never lift more than...

Waste of money? yes no? thinking about getting one, they seem pretty useful and will probably motivate me a little more. to the people who already have one, what can you tell us about them and what do you recommend?
>>37781807
There's nothing you can do with them that you can't do without them. I know plenty of people who have them and don't use them/wear them and don't use the info at all so I'd say kind of a gimmick desu anon
>>37781841
i know they are not necessary by all means but sleep cycle and heart rate plus total calories is pretty useful.
>>37781807
like everything else, it won't make you do anything more or less then you normally would. if you are genuinely curious or just want a log, go for it. I would say set whatever goal you have and record it manually and stick to it for a month, if you are still going and consistent, reward yourself with it.
What are some good /fit/ related movies? I'm looking for anything that embraces the personal growth that comes with personal fitness, or maybe just some kickass shit like the Mad Max movies.
Pic very related, its from Teddy Bear (2012). I suggest you watch the short is was expanded off of, Dennis (2007), if you like that then dive right into Teddy Bear. Its a very touching story of mutant getting QT3.14 asian GF and finally making it.

Trade /fit/ snack tips with me brehs.
I don't have anything besides Greek yogurt, string cheese, and home made beef jerky for all my daily sodium at once.
And if any of you want to make your own:
>get 1 lb of cheap non-fatty beef like flank steak or london broil cut
>place it in the freezer for 20 minutes beforehand to make it easier to cut if you want
>cut slices about 1/8" but no thicker than 1/4", or whatever you pervs like

Hello I have a simple question for /fit/:
In your experience what ethnicity of women are more attractive or receptive to musclar men?
>>37781616
ethnicity means nothing.
culture is everything
>>37781676
ethnicity predicts culture majority of the time, don't even know why you'd bother to reply with this.
if mum is chink and dad is chink what culture do you think their offspring is being raised in majority of the time?
