I had a physical check up today and i was diagnosed with a weird heartbeat pattern and borderline blood pressure. Doc advices me to take less protein and reduce amount of exercise until further examination. I thought i was doing well, I thought working out would be healthy. What do I do /fit/?

When I run, I can run a lot farther, making quick small distance steps. Than longer, slower steps.
Which is the most effective way for burning calories, I generally run after eating a 1500 calorie meal at dinner time.
At a set speed, striding out with long slow steps may burn more calories compared to quick short steps due to having increased braking forces on heel strike. But that's completely irrelevant. Run the way which is most comfortable and efficient for you and from there if you want to burn more calories, run faster.

I would go for 1 1/2 post workout. 40g of protein for a post workout shake is about average.

Do any of you have experience successfully quitting smoking?
I smoke around 2-5 cigarrettes a day, and want to improve my cardiovascular health, as well as the myriad of other benefits that come with quitting.
I've tried a few things like cold turkey and rewarding myself for going consecutive days without smoking, but I can't quite get it to stick.
i successfully quit smoking everyday of my life for the past 26 years by not starting smoking. its an awesome strategy

I have a decent metabolism though, am 21, and don't eat a lot of sweets or dessert
I also try to gravitate towards high protein foods and a generally good amount of protein daily
Just eat as usual. When you are stalling at the gym just add something to your diet.
Then eat sleep gym repeat untill you stall again.
I just count total grams of protein and total calories + take a fiber supplement.
Easiest way to do it.
