I recently joined the gym, my goal is to lose weight. I'm a big guy so I've got pretty far to go. About 35kgs/77lbs.

My first time at the gym I was really nervous but pushed on. But I noticed some random guy and his friend staring at me. It was really uncomfortable sort of staring. Whilst I was on the treadmill and rowing they both stared at my belly and my large size. Yeah I get it. I'm fat - that's why I'm at the fucking gym.

But it seems we have a similar schedule he or his friend or both are always there and always staring. It's totally killing my motivation and just making feel really fucking conscious and aware of my weight instead of my workout. Now I get anxious before going in for a workout and hate going to the gym. I've stopped going regularly.

So does benchpress.

When I squat, my lumbar region hurts like ass.

When I bench, the part near my shoulderblades kills me.

Any idea why? Max DL is 90kg.

Actually Im curious too about the pros and cons of both. Most people I know drink whey isolate but I know some uber jacked guys who drink a gallon of milk a day.

What are the best sources of protein?
I mostly mean other than in meat, I'm not a vegetarian but I don't like eating massive quantities of meat, I can find it bit unappetising

How do you get an explosive chest?

I don't flat bench, I incline because it feels better. I'm always slow pushing the bar off my chest. the top part of the rep is easy, but the bottom half near the chest beats the piss out of me

I can only go fast if i put babby weight on

How can i ignore my sadness to go to the gym?
Im a guy who been lifting for years, but this weekend my gf broke with me, how do you guys cope with bad feelings and motivate yourself to go to the gym, even when feeling like shit?

Any /fit/izen know of a good routine to take up, having completed Starting Strength? Don't really care about mass that much, I'm only interested in getting stronger. Am able to go to the gym 3-5 times a week. Also, any tips on repairing my lungs after an year of smoking (~5 cigs a day)? Struggling with cardio at the moment

A really cute guy at the gym said that I was "pretty strong", asked how old I was + how long I had been lifting and then gave me his instagram without me asking for it or anything.

BUT when I went to his instagram it said he was a sponsored athlete.

So was he hitting on me, or just trying to push some products on me?

we are both DYEL as fuck. I was kinda surprised he even had an instagram to be honest, I wouldnt have been too proud of his body. I can squat more than him, he deadlifts more than me and we benches the same.
