I just got one of those fitness tracker apps and I'm on a cut.
Do I count the total number of calories burned when walking throughout the day? Or do I only count the calories burned when I actually mean to burn them (ie gym, running)
Most apps let you set a multiplier factor for your activity level. Sedentary may multiply your BMR by 1.1 to get the TDEE. Very active may multiple your BMR by 1.9 to get the TDEE.
I cover walking [like to check the mail, or take out the trash] & lifting by setting a general activity level. These are insignificant so I just average it out.
Then if I dedicated cardio, I use mapmyrun app & add those as extra calories, since it could easily require eating 1k calories extra on a given day.

I started using Google Fit since it tracks steps and shit without one of those fitbit things. I use my fitness pal to track calories and meals.

I can't do them, for some reason my right elbow makes a strange click sound when i do.
It doesn't hurt but i can "feel" something clicking and i'm worried i'll fuck my elbow up.
This doesn't happen when i do Dips/bench/Ohp

Hey /fit/. I recently nuked my back while at the gym. I have a history of back problems from a few years ago when I used to chuck bags for Delta. It seems like deadlifting and squatting have been causing some pretty big problems for my lower back.
My questions is, are these lifts really that important for the gains? Ive been lifting a little under a year now and I've made some decent progress. Is it possible to keep making progress without those two lifts? If anything I will quit deads and squats for maybe a month or two

Does anyone here actually eat clean?
I mean if you lift and you aren't actively trying to lose weight, you probably have a tdee of 3000 or more.
It is very difficult to eat 3000 cals of whole foods, fruits, and vegetables.
I find I cant do it. About half my cals come from processed stuff like cliff bars and fast food.

Im 22 years robot and i want to join gym.
In last 4 months i lost 15kg but im still fat and now i want to join gym but im afraid of other guys and girls mocking me for bad form and generally noobness.

kinda pointless. unless you have average proportions there's no reason the ratios your between your lifts should be average. also, novices usually have lifts that are all over the place for various reasons

Hi /fit/, outsider here with a question
I'm looking to start a low carb diet (not for gains, but to compensate for my shit metabolism). Problem is I'm a college student and most of the food on campus is carb-heavy fast food. Any advice from people who've maintained ketosis in a similar situation?

Do you want to eat clean food or eat a meme restaurant and spend too much money? Either sack up and eat the dining hall salad bar or go to grocery store and buy salad ingredients. Don't go out and buy 9 dollar designer salads that are 1200 calories
