ITT: Post your back

Hey /fit/. I recently nuked my back while at the gym. I have a history of back problems from a few years ago when I used to chuck bags for Delta. It seems like deadlifting and squatting have been causing some pretty big problems for my lower back.

My questions is, are these lifts really that important for the gains? Ive been lifting a little under a year now and I've made some decent progress. Is it possible to keep making progress without those two lifts? If anything I will quit deads and squats for maybe a month or two

I have scoliosis and do RDLs and deadlift fairly light weight with higher reps. I don't back squat, it feels awful. Front squatting is fine, though. I really wouldn't push it if it's giving you problems. There are plenty of other exercises you can do that won't be as risky. Also, core should be worked every other day if you have back problems.
