What does /fit/ think of boxing as a primary form of exercise? I've been lifting on and off for around two years or so and want to change things up a bit, I was thinking about signing up at a boxing gym and going to my regular gym maybe three times a week for supplementary strength training.

Great way to hurt yourself. Like most martial arts you have a maturing period at around 35-37y old for most people.
Great way to get fit and learn how to defend yourself quickly. Don't expect to put on/keep any muscle that way.

Why do you only consider people who build muscle "fit"? What about the people who eat right, work out, and are slim? They are fit by most peoples standards, but it seems to me that fit only cares about those who work to build muscle.
Why? I've been wondering for a while, now. Shouldn't /fit/ be a place for those who are interested in keeping fit, whether it be through healthy eating, weight lifting, cardio, etc?

Don't start soon, start now. The biggest thing with counting calories is making it a habit. After 2+ weeks it'll become natural. Eventually you'll develop new eating habits and the weight will come/go on its own. The biggest thing is starting it with consistency.
