So I'm one of these New Year New Me people.

Well, almost. I signed up to the gym in late December because that's when I had the money, so I might as well be.

What can I do to avoid being a nuisance to you guys? At the moment I'm trying to go at times when the gym isn't busy to avoid making any faux pas. What should I do and avoid doing?

Bonus question: Is going to the gym at night bad?

3. doing cardio after you've built yourself a strong body is beneficial

4. intermittent fasting has positive results on your metabolism

5. protein shakes aren't necessary

6. dumbbells are not as efficient as barbells

7. people who injure themselves generally do so because of bad form and because they try lifting far too heavy for their actual strength

False to the first part, overtraining is not something the average gymgoer will experience, it is really something that concerns elite athletes and people at the top of their game. Rest IS important however.
