I run a 4.5 40m but my size is an issue as I'm only about 165 pounds. But I squat over 300, deadlift about 350 and bench 2 plates. Will my speed and relative strength be enough to overcome size? I'm considering throwing on an extra 10 or 15 pounds just to be heavier and it probs won't slow me down that much
So I just watched a health video that says waking up in the morning and doing cardio is a good plan to lose weight. Should I do this/does this work. Pic unrelated

can you get a good and time efficent upper body workout using only dumbells and cables?
i was thinking of doing opposing muscles supersets, smnth like
seated db shoulders press / pulldown
incline db press / seated row
cable pushdown / cable curl
3 sets per exercise and go to failure, 2min rest between supersets and then just fuck around with some preacher curls, shoulder raises, face pulls at the end of the workout, sometimes change cable curl for dumbell curl, incline chest press for normal one or decline etc for variation
do this 3/4 times...

atm i do full body barbell routine, which looks like this
squats
bench press / ohp (alternating)
deadlift / pendlay row (alternating)
i was thinking of keeping the squats but ditching the rest and changing it for what i outlined in my post

What are your guys' experiences doing high volume routines compared to low/medium volume ones? How do they compare?

I started doing high volume 3 months ago after 2 years of low volume, I've noticed lot more gains off of high volume. I stopped trying to show off doing heavy weight and actually got the full form down, slow reps
you'll get bigger on high volume but most likely not as strong

Anyone on /fit/ tried the paleo diet? I'm planning on trying it and was wondering anyone here thinks of it. My goal is to basically lose as much weight as possible and i think this would be perfect

Majority of people won't be strong. Faggets of /fit/ think they are healthy and wonder why others don't follow their awesome routine of health. Lol good luck having a 2 hour gym session 6 times a week when you are older. You are pushing yourself and not learning how to live healthy and create a balanced and sustainable plan for the future.
But I guess this is how humans work. You gain muscles to attract prime female, then once she is hooked you start losing that muscle.

I workout with police sergeants, firefighters, and other manly men and they lift really well in their late 40s.
Like 275-315 bench press for reps. No one but me squats though. It just wasnt as memey back when they were young.
I am interested in going to school to become a chiropractor here in the US, but I am worried about the legitimacy of the practice.
I am really interested in helping with musculoskeletal pains and injuries, since as an avid lifting enthusiast this is something I've dealt with in the past.
I first looked into going to physical therapy school, but found that chiropractor programs have half the workload and cost 100% less, due in part to the lower payout and lower standards of admittance.

Gonna get big familia.
I'm a retard and I fucked up my back today doing Deadlifts. I know exactly what I did wrong. Luckily the weight wasn't a huge amount (it wasn't an ego lift I just tried to test myself when my form was imperfect).
Right now it's a bit uncomfortable but I don't think I did any serious damage. What should I do in the meantime to treat it and make sure my back rests up normally?
Obviously I'm going to stay away from deadlifts for awhile until I fix my form.

I mean it's not that bad. The Pain went away after an hour. But I'm still going to be way more careful when I come back to deadlifts later on (probably not for a week or two)
How do you guys keep track of your lifts? i'm getting off an old routine and was using an app to track my stuff. Does a notepad work well?

Are push up gonna work alone or are they only good when they go along with other excercises?

Push ups are your best friend. There are different kinds of push ups you can do to target certain areas. You can also do dips if you can find an area to do it at. Maybe push 2 tables together or something. Get a packpack and load it up with some weight to increase difficulty. I recently started doing weighted dips 3x a week (4x8 w/ a 45lb plate on a weight belt). My chest has gotten significantly bigger recently.
Get a mop, attach a few bottles of water on each end, lay down on some chairs and bench press you faggit.
