Hey, /fit/. What's the best way to build abs and keep a flat stomach?
On top of my martial arts training which is mostly about core muscles
I just do normal sit ups and crushes. But I've read that they can damage your back. So what should I be doing instead?
I was thinking about picking up one these sit up benches.

I can rep 145lbs barbell fine but 70lbs dumbbells in each hand is way too much for me. So I usually bench press with 40 or 45# dumbbells instead. Is this normal?
Also, is the barbell all around better? I almost never see anyone use dumbbells, just the barbell bench press.
yes DB is harder than BB, and DB is better for hypertrophy, BB for strength iirc. you should do both.

If you like the barbell more use that, if you like the dumbles more use them. You will lift more with a barbell but that doesn't indicate more strength/mass as such. They'll be some physics exhaling the reason for the side tense in weight you can lift somewhere.

Most of their "solid arms" is fat. It's impossible to maintain a good physique when your profession involves doing nothing but sitting and eating fastfood. Trucking is among the most unhealthy professions.
That being said, I know 4 truckers personally. One is an obese sack of lard, two others do as much cardio and cycling as they can during their monthly leave, while the fourth one exercises...

I'm a female and I'd say I'm about 20 kilos overweight. I began working out but I can't seem to do the ab exercises. For example, I can't do side planks not even on my elbows, and when I do crunches I don't really feel them on my abs but rather on the front of my neck, even if I'm not holding my head. What are good alternatives? Should I lose more weight first?
