Anyone have any legit info on wait times between sets?

One person says wait 45-60 seconds, another says 3 minutes, another says 60 seconds if 8-12 reps or 3min if 3-5 reps.

I'm less curious about how long to wait, more curious about the why of it. Whats the point of waiting a short time or a long time, why not just go when you feel ready?

>>
Thats what you have to do though.
It depends on the person
>>
>>36008230
but there must be some theory as to way (if you are in the 45-60sceond camp) that waiting too long somehow lessens the gains.
>>
>>36008285
as to why*

Do you guys seriously eat 1g protein/ 1 lb bodyweight? I'm doing it right now and it just feels like too fucking much. I'm getting farts from hell and there is no respite from the stink my ass is producing.

>TL/DR how do i eat high protein without oozing dead rotting racoon smell out my ass

i do 1lb/lean body mass

so i weigh 160lbs but my bf% is 20-25%

so i eat 120grams minimum since i've just estimated my body fat
>>
>>36008061
Eat enough fiber to keep everything in your gut moving out, idiot. Do I have to do all the thinking around here? I've been eating 0.8 to 1.0g/lb of protein for YEARS and don't have these problems.
>>
>>36008150
Do my thinking too while you're it breh

Please and thanks

You fucking disgust me, how could you give that much fucking attention and acknowledgement to a female?

Mods have been deleting mirin threads lately. Why is that?

Probably because they use such intensely sexual pictures like the one in the OP

I'm thinking about giving up.

I've been lifting for 7 months.
My body doesn't look any different.
I can't lose fat. I can't build muscle.

It's time to stop.

Why not identify why that is rather than make irrational choices and shitpost about them on the internet?

Does anyone use a 'fitness tracker' bracelet or similar? Saw a lot of people getting them for Christmas but it seemed to be largely normies. Are there any brands/models that are actually any good for tracking heart rate (while active) and sleep? Those are the two that I'd actually be interested in, who gives a shit how many steps they walk in a day apart from your auntie Gina.

I use the fitbit Charge Hr.
It's nice and accurate if you use it for your TDEE.
>>
I use the Charge HR which constantly measures your Heart Rate and Calories Burned. Has really helped to calculate more accurate macros and my metabolic rate. Also, measures your sleep which is interesting to me.

I'd recommend it, but its probably not game changing stuff.

Not OP but how accurate is the TDEE calculation? Like of I wear it during some lifting will it measure those calories burnt?

One of the biggest misconceptions about the deadlift is actually how the bar is supported by your fingers.
Many people have this idea that the bar is supposed to be held by a completely closed hand. This would have the bar be supported by proximal phalanx. However, if you point your fist straight down with a neutral wrist, you will see that your proximal phalanx is actually not 90 degrees with the floor. For the bar to be supporter by them, your wrist would actually need to be in a flexed position, and that is simply not mechanically efficient (and your body will naturally avoid it).
If you watch any heavy deadlift videos, you will see that what actually happens is that the hand opens a bit, with the bar moving down the fingers and being supported by the middle phalanx and proximal interphalangeal joint - with a tendency to go for the middle phalanx the longer the bar is held, simply because there's not enough space in the proximal interphalangeal joint, at 90 degrees with the floor, to hold the bar.
The thumb is in a position where it doesn't actually "hold" the bar, with its function mostly being of "pressing" the bar against the hand (in a similar fashion to the lats "pressing", or "pulling", the bar against the body). This is incredibly important for grip stability, and can often be a problem for lifters and affect their grip strength - when their thumbs fail to properly keep the bar from slipping.

However, as you might expect from reading this, this position is prone to having the bar "slip down" your grip, and while your thumbs are awesome, they are usually not enough to keep extremely heavy weights from escaping your grip. This is where the mixed grip comes into play.

>>
While the supine grip is actually weaker when it comes to grip strength, by having one of your hands be in a supine position you add more stability to the grip because the supinated hand is "pressing" the bar against the pronated hand (and vice-versa). In a weird way of making an analogy, it's like "adding a bigger thumb" to your grip. The bar is gonna "want to" slip backwards from the pronated hand, and forwards from the supinated hand - and thus have more stability because the supinated hand keeps the bar from slipping backwards, and the pronated hand from slipping forwards. Compare this to having both hands in a pronated grip - the bar is gonna "want to" slip backwards from both hands, and only your thumbs and your distal phalanxes are there to stop it.

As a small detail, it's worth noting that the supinated hand has an easier time holding the bar closer to the proximal phalanx, on the proximal interphalangeal joint, because the angles of the phalanxes change slightly with the wrist rotation.

>pic related, Dan Green's deadlift shows how the proximal phalanxes are not the ones supporting the bar, but the proximal interphalangeal joint and the middle phalanx.

So I heard about this autism projector and curiosity got the better of me. Yes, he really does seem like an edgelord faggot, and I've watched the interviews where he is proud to be a sociopath, but how much of what he says is actual bullshit and how much is just uncomfortable truths rustling jimmies? Often when someone is met with such extreme hate AND adoration, it's because they're saying something compelling but also ruining another group of peapples belief system

Realistically, is it actually possible to build a decent physique (by normie standards) and be healthy? He talks about why men should go vegan and cites research showing test levels don't vary between meat eaters and vegans, also talks about going high carb etc.

Can anyone shed light on this? Also how big do vegans get when they're not on roids? All of the people this guy cites on his page clearly roid, pic related

Vegans have no disadvantage to gaining size and mass, its pretty easy to hit your macros off plant foods alone. Some plant foods (seitan, hemp milk, tofu) are ridiculously high in protein.

The thing that concerns me is lack of iodine and B12, which can cause irreversible neurological damage and even paralysis
>>
>>36002486

Iodized salt and either fortified foods or a once a week B12 sublingual. Most people should be doing that anyway.

If I want my pecs to get bigger, do I lift heavy-low reps, or light-high reps? I've heard both and this question is specifically concerning muscle growth in the chest

Average is generally 2 meals a day because I'm not hungry.

Weekday Breakfast is generally peanut butter, banana, multigrain waffle sammich, and some oats.
Dinner is generally protein heavy, but it varies a lot. Tonight is pasta with ground turkey.

Weekend breakfast is almost always eggs and turkey bacon breakfast tacos.

I will generally eat something for lunch, but it's pretty light. Something like a chicken sandwich.

Dinner's don't change. Protein heavy. Last night was Turkey Burgers, with sauteed onions, bacon, and swiss cheese.

In all honesty, I'd have a decent diet if I could eat more consistently. I'd also stop being on the line of skele/otter
>>
>>35999037
Breakfast
bagel/ breakfast cereal in the morning with a fruit and coffee

Lunch
sandwich/pre-made lunch meal/ with protein bar and fruit

Dinner
what ever I feel like for dinner, as long as it's decently healthy

I'm 6'3, 180lb, and I almost always hit 2.5k-3k calories, and I lift so I don't really gain fat. I think if people were just more cognizant of what they we're eating they wouldn't really need to worry about eating "perfectly"

for this next experiment anon, we're going to have you look down at your body. bear with me.

you'll notice that your triceps and deltoids are a certain size. you'll also notice that your quads, hamstrings, glutes, hip abductors and lumbar erectors are of a certain total size, and that this total size is much larger than the total size of your deltoids and triceps.

in fact, your posterior chain is many times larger than the primary movers involved in the OHP!

The deltoid muscle is small as fuck dude
of course is gonna take a while to grow

Check this shit out. You shouldn't be bothering with lateral raises right now, but the other tips are great.
