>Have SLI GTX 970
>Get excited for Polaris
>See ridiculous rumored prices for Pascal
>Fuels my excitement for Polaris
>Remember if I buy Polaris card, I will have to deal with the shit AMD users have to put up with (ie: Nvidia sabotage)
>No longer so sure about buying Polaris
see: DX12
>>53453864
So buy Nvidia. I'm still going Polaris.
>>53453954
How would that keep Nvidia from sabotaging AMD like they did on DX11?

Solve an argument /g/entlemen: cpu or motherboard first? Is it acceptable to pick the motherboard before you pick the cpu?
>>53453433
CPU you fucking dipshit. Then you search for a motherboard with the right chipset.
Why would ANYONE pick the less expensive part first, instead of the one that dominates the build.
Have you ever heard someone say:
>I have this PC centered around my ASUS Formula V
No? Thought so. Because its fucking stupid.

It doesn't matter. If you know what you need, most of the decisions will be made for you.
>subs are for ''niggers''
Why /g/ hate bass?
a solid pair of bookshelf speakers will hit around 35Hz, which is plenty of bass.
not hatin' on subs, i just dislike how music sounds with subs. it sounds off to me.
>>53453232
add price ranges or some shit
also woofers are great
problem is when some nigger with $150 budget goes for 2.1
Pretty sure nobody said that. You get a subwoofer to fill in the low end. Nigger bass is when you get three 15" subwoofers, put them in your trunk, and you get nothing but bass rattling your car and your entire body.
FORTRAN and Basic users BTFO
No one denies that Basic is archaic garbage. Fortran is just useful as a history lesson.
>>53453252
Fortran is still used in theoretical physics. High school friend who attended Cornell had to learn it.
fortan is used in academic research.

You do know being gay is a sin right?
>tfw using OSX, even if it's on a PC, is seen as a sin in this board therefore any question regarded to it or attempt to talk about it it's going to get shit on more than Windows 10 generals could
btw what do you mean by "no botnet"
there's no such thing as "no botnet". You just get slightly less.

Don't you guys have a Trump rally to attend?
Okay /g/ I know this board isn't for reviews but I need your help.
I've been trying to learn programming for years but I am a luddite and I keep getting stuck & frustrated.
so I found this workshop in my area tomorrow on Twitter (I attached the ad) and I don't know how to tell if this asshole is legit. all I can tell from his twitter is that he's some kind of hairy hippy and he likes to talk about databases. (I hope he's funnier in person than on Twitter at least. holy shit.) there isn't even a video or something on the website.
so...

If you attend a "think like an engineer" course its safe to say you have zero hope of becoming an engineer.
Its just some liberal faggot who will blow smoke up your ass and teach you buzzwords that will get you nowhere.
ITT: We discuss and rate mini PCs. This can be anything from the Raspberry Pi to the Intel NUC.
I have a raspberry pi Model B.
I used it for a while as a controller for class project (automated watering system). But haven't used it since.

Need one with DisplayPort
What one has it?
>>53452379
A few NUC models have it, as well as PCs by Gigabyte and Zotac. As for an ARM computer with it, I'm unsure.
What do you think of this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/s3PywP
I went all-in with the red theme, 380 is place-holder for Polaris, I wanted to get something like 7750 while I wait, but I'm too excited to experience 144Hz Freesyncâ„¢ for the first time.
I've been stuck with Phenom II and Radeon HD 5700 series prebuilt from like 2008 paired with 60Hz 1680x1050.
Airflow question: I'm going to have 2x140mm fans (2x87CFM) in front, 120mm CPU cooler as exhaust (104CFM) and 1x 120mm intake in the bottom (82CFM). Should the 2x120mm (2x82CFM) be intakes (more cool air for CPU cooler), or exhausts (theoretically less pressure in the case than in room=more air getting sucked in)?
>inb4 amd has no drivers/is housefire
It's just that I'm not interested in 3.5GiB or 600$ GPU when 14nm is literally 4 to 5 months away
>inb4 fell for the SSD/16GiB RAM/RAID 0/Skylake/Optical drive/mechanical keyboard meme
Heh, SSD are just overpriced now but definitely work, and 16GiB is for games like Kerbal Space Program, rest is... debatable
>inb4 >>>/v/
I'm sorry that this isn't what your perception of technology is, but /v/ is just cancer, I hoped it would be some "trolling" or glitch exploiting in competitive games where people get butthurt, like cs:go, but it's actually bunch of faggots that enjoy games like FO4 and Assassins' Creed and discuss the stories in them...
The optical drive and headphones don't seem necessary. For airflow, I prefer positive pressure, so it's up to you.

Why should I trust the info in the picture?
I use a R.A.T might not be the best but I really like the way I can customize it. And it works for me. It has taken a hell of a beating have dropped it several times and my Labrador (1 year old) tried to eat it and it is still alive.
But I would not recommend it for anyone that wants a really reliable mouse. This fucking thing seems to live it's own life and from time to time the tracking just fuck everything up. When playing games this is really annoying. But might just be my mouse after all the beatings it has taken.
what's the biggest issue with the sensei?

Actually, it's "mouses", unless you're talking about the animal.

Can someone recommend a build that would be fit for bringing up on a Navy ship? I was thinking some kind of micro-ITX rig but idk what to do about the monitor portion to save space and add portability.
You'd be better off getting a laptop. I was on the Eisenhower and there isn't much room for stuff like that unless you have a really cool DIVO who'll let you store stuff in the shop.
>>53451676
Yeah I know, but I would like to engineer a creative solution if I could.
As far as laptops go, I heard Sager is pretty good yeah?

aesthetics are subjective and thus a worthless measure of a product's quality. functional design is a scientific measure of quality, and thus a better measure.
