What are some of the precautions you take to protect your computer from Virus/Botnets/NSA?

>Anti Virus
>Encryption Software
>Web Browser
>Vpn etc..
16 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Search FLOSS
>>
>install a GNU/Linux distro
>full disk encryption with dm-crypt
>password manager with a strong, hidden keyfile
>HTTPS Everywhere
>Avoid harmful countries (US, UK, FR, etc) servers

and you're already a lot more secure than the average retard.
from there, start researching on your own.
>>
I don't download random shit I find on torrent sites or any download link that leads to some LinkBucks/Ad.fly loophole. Literally just use your common sense, make backups, and don't be a retard. I have to fix my Sister's laptop at least once a month because she gets viruses and adware and toolbars clicking on shit on those game sites. I've installed uBlock Origin but the fucking retard always disables it because it blocks her Facebook news stories.

don't seek validation from others. if you like what you have and it works for you, then it is the best thing in the world.

niggers on /g/ are pessimistic, miserable, salty and confused, so you won't get any positive feedback.

What is a DAW?
Digital
Audio
Workstation

>What DAW is yours?

>How long you been on it?

>How long have you been into music?

>What genre do you play with the most?

>What Genre do you think you are best at?

>Have you thought about changing up to something else?

>What's your favorite synth, no matter how dumb it is?

>Do you see yourself doing this way later on even if you get no where?

Bonus points:

>Who is your biggest inspiration to why you make music?

1 simple rule I hope you can guys do, please don't be assholes to those who
have a different perspective on another DAW, no matter what it is or how shitty
it is. I know there are some very laughable ones out there but ya know...
So please just be as helpful as you can.

>this is /g/ not /mu/ gtfo

We do not talk about the music as it is but how it's created and what we use and how to help
others get better

Also David Bowie is in Heaven. RIP you amazing bastard!

MilkyTracker, because too poorfag/unmotivated for recording...
Pretty long.
Even longer.
Chiptune horror music.
There isn't one single genre.
As soon as I get a better job/flat maybe I'll invest in a small home studio + Reason, because muh physics based cable simulation.

>bonus
There isn't one single biggest inspiration.

Bonus question: How comes music software tends to have small shitty custom GUI elements?

Also Dwayne Static is in Heaven. RIP you amazing bastard!

Uhh, like Reason 6 and a decent AKAI controller with some shitty pads.

Like 4 years?

Like, most of my life.

Jazz

Jazz

No, jazz is the best contemporary mode of musical expression.

MINIMOOOOG

Yeah, I'm a hobbyist. Musicians don't make money these days, period.

Don't care about the other questions.

I'm interested in getting into production, so I started playing the Piano, studying music theory etc, but I can't wrap my head around all the stuff that FL can do.
Is there a guide to what these Knobs do and what these terms mean?
I've fucked around a bit with them, but some of em' don't seem to change the sound..

Calculator thread!

I realized with all the time I waste fighting with google/microsofts calculator on my PC it would be smarter just to keep a proper scientific calculator on my desk.
What is the /g/ approved scientific calculator (doesn't need to be graphing)?

If you aren't afraid of too many options & powerful capabilities (but way cheaper than Cisco/FiveNetworks) look-up MikroTik.

Hello /g/,
a couple of weeks ago I started learning PHP and scripted the following Website for practise.
http://anguri-message.co.nf/

It should be something like an instant messenger wrote in PHP.
What does /g/ thinks about it?

It's not a meme, I did tests on why my chrome took so long to open sometimes and it was a hard drive bottleneck. Now with an ssd everything is instant. Also boot times are very fast, no more going to the bathroom during reboots.
