This is the biggest threat, but if out there there's a virus that can fuck with your HDD/SSD firmware then you should be worried about that. That is the ultimate bricker.
Pretty much anything that runs at ring 0 could in theory rewrite firmware with bad shit. However if you happen to have a motherboard with a switchable BIOS, you could save your ass pretty quickly.
If we're talking about halting and catching fire, then not really. I'm guessing you *COULD* write code that tells the BIOS to overvolt to 2.0V and fry the CPU, though.
Ever dropped a CPU before on a hard surface?
Did it end up working?
Tested once with a Pentium 4 CPU, did all kinds of resistance.
Dropping, Stepping and dropping stuff over it was okay.... But slamming an hammer on it didn't work so well.
Never truly had a cpu out of the comp for more than a couple hours for maintenance.
Generally gets sat out of the way while I fuck with other parts
I dropped a new and expensive CPU, and bent some pins. I bent them back with a creditcard and all was well.

I really don't give a shit about the AVG, but I do find it very annoying my OS can and does uninstall programs without my permission, it is in control, not I. And at its core it seems designed to harvest as much data from me as possible for the profit of someone else.
You pay for the hardware, but its useless without the software, the software can do what it wants, how it wants, you are forced to accept this.

got an offer from Lionbridge today as "Internet Ads Assessor". I don't even know what the fuck exactly I am supposed to do, some content rating and translation afaik.

Probably some localization QA job. It really depends on where you work for them. I really enjoyed their polish office many years ago.

Definitely localization QA. Just checking that the spelling is correct and that the translation is contextually correct. Also checking that words don't get cut out because of lack of space or goes out of the box.

Only for extreme overclocking but air cooling has caught up to the point where the difference in performance is negligible.

AIO:
+cooling on-par with or a little better than air, depending on specific AIO

*trickier to set up but difficult to cause component damage

Custom loop:
++can cool multiple components easily
+can be very quiet depending on the fans/pump chosen
+looks pretty

Watercooling is really useful.
But for most people, air cooling works just fine.
