Can someone explain to me whats a difference between overclocking an i5 6500 and an i5 6600K, I'm well aware that you can get out more of the 6600K, but for now it looks like the i5 6500 is a better deal. What's the catch?

My computer has started making a grinding noise like a broken fan, but even when I press a finger against any of the fans to stop them, the noise doesn't change one bit. I also checked the harddrive, so it can't be making the constant wobbling moan either.
What do you think could be causing this, and how can I fix it?

Hey /g/, this is a computer I built in 2002. I called it "The G*XP" because it used an Athlon XP processor, and it was the first time I ever installed Windows XP. I used this computer for seven years, the longest usage period of a computer for me. I have a lot of sentamental attachment to this computer, so before I toss it in a basement box, I would like to see If anyone knows what kind of case it uses. Out of all the computer cases I've used, this is my absolute favorite. The translucent dark green wave on the front is incredibly nice. So does anyone know what kind of case this is, or where I could buy one (preferrably a new one made for the new ATX factors).

I just finished my first build and I'm running into some problems.
specs:
Intel Core i7-5820K
Asus X99 Pro
Cooler Master 850w
Corsair Dominator 8GB@3200mhz x 4
Asus Strix 980Ti
Now I noticed the RAM was running at 1066mhz, so set BIOS to XMP profile 1.
Took away all power, cleared CMOS, flashed BIOS. RAM now running at 2133mhz, tried XMP again, took away power from GPU.
I'm not that knowledgeable about building pc's yet, so bear with me if I ask any dumb shit.
Read there are a lot of problems with X99 boards. Is the X99 just a shitty board that can't allow 3200mhz? Difference would be negligible but I paid a lot of money for that RAM.

Fast ram is literally pointless, you just wasted money on shit op. In fact, you wasted a lot of money in a lot of places with that computer.
lol 3200 is rampage territory. your entry level board would be lucky to reach 2800.
if you do somehow end up getting to run at 3200 then good luck overclocking the cpu.
