I ordered some 18650 batteries for a flashlight and 1 out the 4 I ordered is kill. Looking to order a decent flashlight to mount on my bike, probably try some more batteries. I might order a powerbank and some xiaomi pistons. Suggestions?

is 1080p considered to be potato resolution already?
181 posts and 13 images submitted.
>>
It's not that 1080p looks bad. It's just that 2k and 4k are so much better.
>>
i consider it reasonable as a "baseline". I would expect people to have that resolution or higher, but i wouldn't think "potato" if someone had 1920x1080
>>
>>52714219
ah ok so if i am happy with 1080p then there is no reason to upgrade then alright i do have two monitors though

I have $500. Tell me why I shouldn't buy a 4K monitor instead of a couple of 1080p monitors.

Yeah, but how much do you have in your high-interest or investment account? You're not just a good goy making someone else rich, are you?
>>
>>52713174
That gives you less resolution than a 4k monitor, though.

CS (or I guess SE which is what all these "lrn2code" movements are actually trying to get people into) already has the lowest barrier to entry for anything that you can make a living from. Even impoverished poo-in-loos can do it, the only reason murrifats can't into is because they are both dumb and lazy, and you can't be both if you want to be a programmer.

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).
----
If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experienceâ„¢

Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", lightweight
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>They’re really cheap when you buy a used one.
>Keyboards feel excellent while typing (yes, even the newer ones).
>Great durability thanks to the inclusion of rollcages and use of glass fiber reinforced plastic for the chassis. The keyboard is splash proof and spilled liquids will drain out.
>Utilitarian design - e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking solutions that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for almost every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing on the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

Emacs is the thinking man's text editor. You can use as more than a text editor if you want to, but it works beautifully on its own. You can completely ignore all of emacs keybindings and use it as though it were a plain text editor with only the ability to copy/paste, undo/redo and save files with its graphical interface.

Looks decent. Maybe consider a higher rated PSU? Also, if you're planning on overclocking (which I assume you are) it wouldn't hurt to spend a little more on the cooler.
