Planning on making a toy language where your code degrades after use and you have to write self-modifying code to repair it.
A little while ago I flashed a nightly CyanogenMod 13 build on my HTC one M8. I am happy with the ROM, but during the process my root access was broken. Unfortunately the HTC one M8 is not compatible with common One Click Root software, and when I rooted it in the first place I had to do it manually. I can still use my custom recovery (CWM) but no apps that require root access. Also, If one of you manages to get my phone rooted and I lose all of my data, will I still be able to keep root access if I restore from backup?
I have spent fucking hours searching for a solution and you, /g/ are my last resort. I didn't want to have to do this, but I am. If you see this thread as simply 'Another Newfag who things /g/ is tech support', so be it, but at least I have had a good look around for an answer.

Tap the build number a few times, get dev mode on, turn root access on if its there

Theres really not much difference. Unless you get into kernel programming it all just looks like unix. Sure on SysV unixes you have to ps -elf and on bsd types you have to ps ax, but man ps works on both, so meh, who cares, its all unix (even linux), its all good.
