Hey /g/ you guys should join me and other /g/entoomen on Discord, a free (as in beer) voice and text chat client. The following is the link to /g/'s unofficial server

https://discord.gg/0d0IzXbFmxlZAwws

>for Gamers
This is misleading. Discord is not at all bloated nor is it 1337 gaymen software. The developers are very humble and easy to contact. Don't expect anything from Razer or Nvidia.
>Closed Source
Like I said, the developers are easy to contact, and there are existing third-party API libraries available for scripting languages such as Ruby, Python, or JavaScript which allow you to easily develop your own client if need be.
>shill
Nigga, it's free. We just thought it would be cool to talk to some of you guys.

Why not IRC?
>>
>>51710542
The UI of Discord is much more polished and clean, plus it has voice chat built in.

I keep downloading music and somehow parts of a track end up on another. It's crazy. The computer is playing DJ with me big time. Like, for example "Pay Attention" by Collen Green is the last seconds of "Nobody Really Cares If You Don't Go to the Party" by Courtney Barnett, then 10 seconds of a song I don't recognize, then another song for 20 seconds, and then the real "Pay Attention" starts, but of course it cuts out before it ends because all this can't fit within the runtime of ""Pay Attention". In return, "Nobody Really Cares If You Don't Go to the Party" begins with 1 minute and 30 seconds of yet another song, so fuck knows how many are corrupted like this.

Could this be the external drive failing on me? Everything plays fine, I'm just tired of having to redownload albums because of this.

Try opening the files on another computer/OS. If you're torrenting, try different programs and OS's
>>
>>51710466
They weren't torrented, and I'm not yet bothered enough to go test them on another PC (frankly I'm pretty sure they actually are fucked and is not my computer).

After using Linux for damn near 10 years now, I fucking quit. I'm done. Linux is the equivalent of the car in your garage that you restore, but it's unreliable for virtually everything.

Trying to get work done? Nope
Trying to work on a project? Nope
Trying to be a normal member of society? Nope
Trying to enjoy entertainment in any way? Nope

The only thing that Linux has going for it is the programming aspects of the system. But if you're not using VIM/GVIM, you might as well fucking kill yourself. /g/ay will preach about "muh freedumz," but let's be serious -- Linux doesn't protect you anymore.

That's my 2 cents. Linux can fuck off. Pic related.

Ubuntu 15.10 here.

You should really upgrade. My system is rock solid, has support for every package needed, and systemd literally fixed everything about Linux.

What is the 4K of Audio?

$5000 shit audiophiles buy out of nowhere and claim it is better than regular stuff.

>ITT we discuss scams niggers fell into in /g/
>>
Way too early for a bump. But I'm interested as well.
>>
>>51709483
i mean, 4k legitimately adds detail to the picture, audio doesn't have anything like that. there's reason to increase your bit depth beyond 16 for listening purposes, nor is there a reason to go above 44,100hz. 24/96 is a joke. FLAC has its archival purposes. Audio is at a dead end in terms of perceptible quality improvement, unless you care about lossy codec development.
