I used to play Hangman a lot on a Macintosh, but I didn't speak English so I just guessed shit randomly.

Does Apple still hang people?

Sup, /g/?

I have an issue, I stopped using torrents ever since my brother instilled a ridiculous fear of them in me.

So, I used video2mp3.net, but then one day about two weeks ago, my web browser wouldn't let me in 'cause of viruses and shit.

Now it's back online, but it won't let me download unless I install an extension. Does this sound fishy as fuck?

>tl;dr
>I use video2mp3.net to get music.
>It now requires an extension to download.
>I should cease using it, right?

these represent pretty much everything installed on my computer (except that I also have sublime text 3 installed, but that's cracked so I want to keep it out of homebrew's package management).

Start by installing homebrew, then tap Cask and maybe the fonts thing.
>>
AppCleaner - Deleting apps and packages
Movist - Prob the sleekest video player with no shitty bloat that vlc has
iTerm2 - Kewl terminal with support for handy hotkeys and shit. Its handy to pull terminal window whenever you feel like by just pressing Alt+Tilde
Brew - For installing Linux packages
Max or XLD - Best audio conversion kit with plenty of options
Keka - File compressor/decompressor

I work in a financial firm in the IT department and have noticed we have a bunch of quant analysts, statisticians, etc. They all make their own custom programs and models in Python. I asked them why and they said it's what everybody uses for big data analytic. Any specific reason why Python seems to be superior language in this, or is it just a meme? Should I learn Python?
23 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
It's just easy to write, easy to read, popular, and has lots of packages.

If you want to do the kind of analysis that they do, then learning the language they use seems like something you shouldn't need to ask us for advice about. If you have another purpose in mind, then the anecdote you gave seems irrelevant.
>>
>>51700627
I know very little about it, but it seems to be the language with all of the relevant libraries and tutorials for data science/ML.
Why all the libraries and tutorials are in python? Not sure...
>>
AFAIK it's because of libraries (SciPy, pandas), but i don't know why they prefer python over R

So I have my PC connected to my TV along with my vidya consoles, and I want to comfortably game with mouse and keyboard. But I don't have a surface upon which to place those things so I can use them comfortably, while sitting in my (armless) swivel chair.

Any ideas on how to comfortably game? Pic not mine but even that shit looks lightweight uncomfortable.

literally how it works without autism anon

When they added Pocket to Firefox, they kept telling us that there was no money involved and that was an addition "for the benefit of all users" without any ulterior motives.

But the truth has now surfaced: Mozillahas a revenue share agreement with Pocket.

WHAT IS THIS, /g/, WHAT IS THIS?

I JUST WANTED TO RICE MY LAPTOP
WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY COMPUTER?!?

Seriously speaking, since I have fallen for the Arch meme I passed the day trying to understand from 0 how the heck can I install it, because of my lack of UNIX-like systems skills.
So I got how to install the base system, now I'm stuck at choosing the best WM and all the ricing and I literally have no idea on how to approach this. Any serious advice?

That's exactly what I tried, had no idea what the best terminal emulator was so I installed termite and didn't try to customize it because I didn't know how to do it.
i3 looks really great for coding, I'm guessing, but is it good on multimedia or other kinds of use?

I used to like interpolation but for some reason it looks odd to me now, and I prefer it off
