Why would you not use lua for general userland applications?
Integrantes well with C, luajit is rock solid and fast, llvm-lua is nice.
Luarocks, tables are awesome, easy to learn, and much more.
If more complex things are needed you can also use things like moon script that makes life easier.

I primarily program in Java and Python and I use Eclipse and Spyder IDE resepctively. Now that I switched my main hard drive to something with much more room, I think I'd like to get an IDE that actually requires an installation. How does Visual Studio Community sound? It looks really pretty!

What was your first mp3 player /g/? Mine was a mobiBLU Cube.

>World's smallest digital audio player, at 0.63 ounces and 0.94 inches square
>1 GB memory holds 16 hours of MP3 and 32 hours of WMA audio
>Plays MP3, WMA, and secure WMA (compatible with online stores and subscription services)
>Integrated FM radio with 20 presets and record function; built-in microphone and voice recorder
>Unique OLED display; internal lithium-polymer battery charged via USB connection or AC adapter

It died after like 5-6 months. also mp3 player general I guess.

Some $20 piece of crap in like 2003. It came with 32MB of memory. I think there was a SmartMedia (remember that?) slot for up to 64MB more.

in 2007 I bought a 2GB Sansa player, one of the last to use AAA batteries. As a result of that, I'm still using it.

This, it was a 60GB I think. Had U2 on the box. I liked it but I remember iTunes being complete and utter shit on Windows XP.

>AMD focusing on VR, Gaming, and Datacentres

Looks like /v/fags will ruin this company for good.

Did you know that the CEO from AMD gets pay more than one from Nvidia despite having heavy loses.

Makes you wonder why doesn't it?
>>
>>54590000
Lisa Su herself stated that AMD's new enterprise chips would be competitive in 80% of common server workloads.
AMD's Zen isn't going to be an FPU work horse. The term competitive in itself is ambiguous. Being 10% behind could be argued to still be competitive. Offering lower performance, but more tertiary features could also be said to be competitive.

Also keep in mind that Summit Ridge is competing against the i7 Extreme line of processors, not the higher clocked quad core mainstream i5s and i7s.

And stop posting those fake slides.

BSD > System V
they actually tried innovating by having a TCP/IP stack
>>
>>54589905
SysVR4 had a tcp/ip stack. It's just hat DARPA research ran BSD.
>>
>>54589905
I've never used SysV since companies actually expect people to pay for Unix.

KDE seems to have gotten better. Partial to XFCE, OpenBox and Awesome as well.
>>
I am running KDE Plasma on Arch. Really liking it too, it seems to just work for the most part and looks really good after some basic configuration.

I should get around to trying XFCE, which seems like the only viable alternative.

Do you faggots ever just sit back and think how much fucking javascript is written everyday?

And for what? So the fucking page comes in at 15mb per view, and the top bar follows you down the page? And for this easy task just include
>jquery
>Jquery effects
>Jquery round corners
>Jquery entire js implementation in scratch
>jquery fuck you

Then off course you are going to need bootstrap agile and font awesome to really finish it off! FUCK modern web design

Firefox or Chrome?

Firefox.

Because Chrome is a botnet. Same reason why you don't use Windows 10.
>>
Firefox is trash / Chrome is too invasive. Use Opera
>>
Chrome.

Because Firefox is bad

So /g/, noob here.

Which one of those is better and safer to store files? I want to use it to just store files, don't plan to overwrite them (just to copy files FROM the device to pc or phone, etc, not to keep changing them there).

Or are dvds better?

Magnetic tape drives. Great for archives, also great for those irreplaceable summer vacation photos with the senpai :^)

usb3 flash drive is fine. larger capacities available.

all options are pretty easy to encrypt.
>>
>>54588838
SD cards, cheap but more reliable than flash drives. I'd still recommend backing up your files to an offsite place though.

Are there are good afforadable microphones? I want to learn out to sing and just generally improve my speech and was looking at the Audio Technica AT 2020 as its only $120

impossible. good vocal chords are genetic. give up now before the embarrassment and failure hits you harder later
>>
>>54588832
If you want super duper cheap you can just make one for a few bucks.

JLI-61A (replacement for the unfortunately obsoleted and venerable WM-61A) + Linkwitz mod and a few wires. You can build a mic pre-amp for about $10 as well.
