OK retard, first of all that's a memory bug with GRUB (which redhat fixed btw just some distros are slow to adopt REHL patches) not a security problem, the attacker would need physical access to the machine in order to exploit it, and if a hacker can sit down in front of your PC you are basically fucked anyway because they can boot whatever OS they want from removable media and root the machine no matter what its running.

I had one of those, it started having bad sectors after 5+ years of usage.
My current oldest drives are a 2tb Samsung blue with 36k hours and a WD Red 2tb with 28k hours.
However I started enabling power down on idle for the last year since this piece of shit Fractal Design R5 does nothing to dampen HDD noise and vibration. Most of my HDDs aren't used half the time anyway.

Oh, and this pic of the hd103uj is over a year old. Since then I put it in an external enclosure and gave it to my dad, since they got a smart tv that can play movies from the hdd.
The enclosure was a piece of shit and was quickly torn to pieces, so I shudder to think how many errors the drive has now.

I got a second monitor and am running two 1920x1080 displays now. The problem I'm having is, that on Windows 7, it seems running Aero with two displays results in animation lag when dragging or minimizing/maximizing windows.
I tried disabling Aero, but without Aero, Windows 7 looks like total shit.
Anyway, I want to know if you guys suggest going with 8/8.1 or 10, and if there's a way to disable all the Metro shit.
