So that the Debian guy is dead, are you going to keep using Debian/Ubuntu/Mint or give some other distribution a try?
>>52146194
Personally I'm switching to Slackware from Debian. This guy's suicide has NSA written all over it.
>>52146194
Honestly thinking of switching to gentoo

What did /g/ think of this show? How did Elliot have such a high level security job yet live in a dump apartment?

Normie shit.
I've disassembled my Lenovo Thinkpad Y180. What are these components /g/? Just walk me through what I'm looking at here.
You haven't disassembled shit, you took the back cover off. Any porch monkey with a screw driver can do that. You don't even know what the most basic parts of a computer are that you are looking at. Jesus fucking H. Christ go back to the jungle where you belong.
5/7 post made be reply.
>>52146231
Don't be a fucking bitch, just give me some knowledge on what the different parts are and why there's nothing in the blue compartment
That blue compartment looks like it could hold a SSD. You might want to read your manual or look up if you can use a SDD in that slot.
So I got offered a choice between an Iphone 6s Plus and a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
Which one should I go for?
>>52146087
S6 edge. can you get the normal one and not the edge version?
Edge owner here OP.
I'd go for the Edge.
iPhone, then sell it.
You'll get almost double the resale value of the Samsung
I need help finding an amazing torrent app. I've recently downloaded CM12 on my Note 3 SM-N9005.

seriously i hope you guys love paying out the ass for "activation fees" and "line access fees" because im over here using your wifi for free and getting 3gb for $50
My cell phone plan is only a few more dollars than what they charge and I have a solid cap, so I don't need to worry about all the money that I am throwing away when I want to browse my phone for a few minutes when I'm not home.
Jewgle already controls so much of your information that using them as your carrier on top of using their software is pretty ridiculous.
"fi network" u jelly yet

Hey /g/ what program do you use to download videos from youtube/vimeo/etc? the wiki recommends youtube center but I was wondering if there's anything that's safe and still being regularly updated.

Hi /g/
I wanted to tell you that I have a dream that goes beyond what any fictional AI movie director can imagine.
I want to create an system with superior intelligence to monitor the world in order to ensure, or at least try, that everyone's needs are being met. Sounds pretty innocent right? It will until the system starts remaking itself for more intelligence, gaining ways to interact with the world, and overpowering human armies if they stand in the way of someone's needs.
Some people is afraid of the singularity because 'a computer with...

I remember what it was like to have delusions of grandeur too.
>>52145704
are you retarded
>>52145721
No no this is no delusion, I know I can't, I'm just saying that if I can join a company that does anything related or contribute to this in any way as a professional I will.
It's bound to happen and it may very well happen within our lifetimes.
Holy shit, /g/.

sony had linux on the PS3 and then they removed the functionality for no reason. fuck therm. hackers shouldn't have to do their fucking work for them.
>>52145733
jej, i remember following a tutorial on how to install linux on the ps3 when i was younger, and i formatted the drive without knowing what formatting meant. good times.
>>52145749
>buy a ps3 in store
>it literally says on the box it supports seconds OS (linux)
>people get linux working nicely on it
>for no apparent reason Sony decides to remove said functionality
>you can actually brick your PS3 rendering it useless by trying to flash linux on it now
Yep, sure is fun to have your perfectly fine linux box being turned into...

I've been using FireFox for years and years and years, but I'm drawing the line now. It's gotten too shitty and too poorly run for my taste. What browser other than FireFox or Chrome would /g/ reccomend that:
-has excellent add-on support
-doesn't look like shit
-respects my privacy somewhat (doesn't have to be IceCat/Stallman tier, but Chrome is over the line for this reason)
I'm currently trying SeaMonkey right now and while it runs decently and has good add-on support, the interface looks like garbage.
What would /g/...

Firefox is still good if you disable the bullshit.
Just get classic theme restorer and do some magic here and there in about:config
just use an older version of firefox or addons that circumvent the changes they're making. I recommend waterfox
seamonkey is an AIO with admittedly old GUI from the original Mozilla most shills here never used
a logical alternative is Pale Moon

No. The pi 2 b is the most advanced pi currently out. Buy a vocore.
