Why is going to an office everyday or worst yet a cubicle and staring at code on a screen all day a desirable profession? Thats the life you want?
Why is sitting in a chair all day staring at a screen the way you spend all your free time? Is this the life you want?
>>52958038
Better than dealing with people all day everyday honestly and the work is relatively easy and stress free. I won't complain.
Honestly though, it's not just software development, it's practically everything that isn't manual labor or social sciences. Anything STEM will have you using a computer most of the time nowadays.
Is there a valid reason to use an electronic typewriter in 2016?

Spectacular for small and quick projects.
Programming hell for larger projects that needs constant management.
You're useless for anything with more than two files
Because Javascript is superior.
Post your add-ons.

I can’t believe this level of botnet. You wangblowers are truly the worst. You are retarded enough to support a product that flat out lies to its user and to believe you can “debotnet” it by unchecking a few boxes. Take your faggotry back to >>>/v/ and Reddit you underage kiddies. The only reason you use this horrendous fucking piece of shit is muh gaymes although WINE exists and many Steam games and emulators have a native GNU/Linux port. There’s
Z E R O

reasons to even consider using this ungodly turd that is Wangblows, be it 7, 8 or 10. You have no fucking excuse. GNU/Linux works just as well out of the box as Wangblows (it’s 2016 you retarded submongoloids) and even Gentoo is so user-friendly that I was able to use it as my first distro with few problems.
As for the so-called “professionals” who work on Wangblows, I might believe it once this fucking uncustomizable garbage stops telling me there is a problem with Intel Wireless Bluetooth − which I never used. Even with telemetry they can’t fix their broken shit.
I disabled updates in September 2015 and it never installed anything
I think you're retarded

I just installed my very first SSD. This thing is amazing. I boot in less than three seconds after post.
There are a few things I already know:
>I should never Defrag an SSD. It doesn't work like that, and I'd only end up hurting my drive.
>CCleaner isn't really needed anymore, and if I do use it, I should never wipe clean space. Once again, it doesn't work like that.
>With no mechanical parts, I can finally ship my tower from my bedroom to the living room routinely without much worry.
What I don't know is:
>Without the need to Defrag or use Ccleaner, is there ANY kind of up-keep I need to do like I used to?
>This thing's basically just a really advanced flash drive, right?
>Will playing games with the SSD as my only drive damage the drive?
>I had no way of fitting it anywhere in my tower. It's honestly just sitting at an angle on one of the drive bays held in place by friction and the strength of the cables alone. Should I fix this, or is it fine?
>no, just make sure your sata mode in the BIOS is set to AHCI
>yes
>no
>fine
>>52955732
>no, just make sure your sata mode in the BIOS is set to AHCI
Shit. What happens if it isn't?
>>52955753
Not sure, I think it was related to performance and making sure your OS is actually treating it as an SSD and not a mechanical drive. Check it, if it isn't it's just a switch and a regedit value in Windows (google that stuff)
Yo faggots, talk me out of using Arch and start using another distro.

I'm sure it wont take them long to patch this.
It's probably some date centric app failing to validate. See this kind of thing with windows but it doesn't brick the OS.
Try setting the date on any OS to some fucked up time and see how much it fucks with the software.
>tfw GMT+10

How do you even change the year?
>AMD’s fastest Radeon yet, the fabled “Fury X2” dual Fiji graphics board has just been teased on twitter by the company’s resident frame pacing guru.
>The card will feature two full fledged Fiji XT GPUs with a total of 8192 GCN cores, 8GB of stacked High Bandwidth Memory and a total memory bandwidth of one Terabyte per second. That’s a whole lot of performance. Which if we’re talking about R9 Nano clock speeds, and we are, is equivalent to 16 Teraflops/s of single precision compute. That’s equivalent to four and a half R9 380 graphics cards, in a board that’s shorter than a reference design GTX 960.
>8192 Stream Processors
>128 GCN Compute Units and Render Output Units
>512 Texture Mapping Units
>Up to 1000 Mhz in GPU Frequency
>8GB of HBM Memory at a Interface of 8192 bits and frequency of 500Mhz
>Bandwidth of 1 Terabyte
>Liquid cooled
>16.38 Teraflops
Set to launch sometime this year
>liquid cooled
>All four Nvidia graphics boards in question are described as “COMPUTER GRAPHICS CARDS”. However, all four carry very similar per unit values and as such we could be looking only at the circuit boards and not necessarily graphics cards but there’s really no way of telling for sure.
>All four boards start with the same 699 serial number and the earliest record of a board carrying that serial number appears in December. So we know that we’re looking at Nvidia graphics boards that are new and did not exist at any point before December. This could potentially explain Pascal’s absence from CES and why Nvidia chose to showcase the Pascal Drive PX2 module with Maxwell GPUs instead.
>Pascal graphics architecture.
>2x performance per watt estimated improvement over Maxwell.
>DirectX 12 feature level 12_1 or higher.
>Built on the 16nm FinFET manufacturing process from TSMC.
>Allegedly has a total of 17 billion transistors, more than twice that of GM200.
>Will feature four 4-Hi HBM2 stacks, for a total of 16GB of VRAM and 8-Hi stacks for up to 32GB for the professional compute SKUs.
>Features a 4096-bit memory bus interface, same as AMD’s Fiji GPU power the Fury series.

Intended for users of all levels, including absolute beginners.
There are four ways to try Linux, you can:
1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience".
3) Dual-boot Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about Linux)
4) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with Linux (not recommended)
Before asking, please search for answers to your questions in resources.
Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly Linux Thread.
Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe wine can make up for it.
