I ain't leaving 41.0.2 until I can have my option to disable images and javascript back. SettingSanity doesn't work with newer versions because they completely removed the options in a window feature and forcing into a tab made it all shitty and incompatible with any addons. It's kind of ridiculous that I even have to have an addon to restore basic browser functionality (fuck you, Limi).

What's the longest an HDD has lasted you, /g/, and what's the shortest? Did they die unnanounced or slowly start to fail?
Gonna buy an enclosure for an HDD bought in 2008. 8 years of existence, 4-5 years of use, how much longer can this thing last? Working absolutely fine so far.

Many believe that Linux is far superior to Windows, and I've heard some good points. I've only ever dabbled in it, but I'm a CS student now and we've been told to familiarise ourselves with it somewhat extensively.
So, what makes linux so superior to Windows?

It's better in certain ways but not all. From the standpoint of a non-gaming shitposter I like that it is free, customizable, and open source. It isn't sending my data to the mothership. A lot of really smart people work on it.
I like windows too because it just works, compatible with everything, and it is good for word processing.

I like the python integration (idk if it's included in every distro, but we use openSUSE) because it makes my life easier since we're starting out on python, so I tend to get a lot more work done a lot faster this way, so I can see why people would choose to work on it

NTFS relies on an MFT (Along with a copy of it) to store ALL your file metadata for the entire disk, so if these structures get corrupted then your data is top tier fucked.
