Dell drops Linux from desktops and laptops

>Dell cited lack of demand and the slow PC market as reasons for removing Linux as a choice for desktop and laptop users.

http://www.geek.com/news/dell-drops-linux-from-desktops-and-laptops-543744/

Holy shit freetards. Those Laptops were cheaper than the Windows counterparts, but people still rather payed more for Windows. People literally say: Linux, not even for free. This is the final nail in the coffin.

I have an Inspiron I bought from when they did that. I bought it thinking it would be the same quality as their business market Latitiude machines, but it turned out to be cheap plasticky Wal-Mart shit with a horrible LCD display. It was like one of three models they had available at the time.

Shit hardware is shit hardware regardless of the OS and it's not any wonder they didn't sell. Trying to market them as budget machines to non-technical users who don't care about specs shows they had no idea what they were doing.

REPOSTING FOR SEKRET CLUB
As the Internet is becoming more and more full of shit, there are some comfy chans just text based. So let's start an underground chans thread /g/

You need just to know how to connect those chans through ssh protocol in order to have everything working.

I want to fuck with my room mate's ps4 so that it looks like a technical malfunction. Any ideas on how to go about doing this? It doesn't have to break the system, but at least cause a bit of trouble for the bastard.

He started dating one of my good friends a while back. He cheated on her with a chick that he would later find out gave her gonorrhea, but was too scared that my friend would break up with him, so had sex with her anyways. I just found out today that she has it too now.

Intended for users of all levels, including absolute beginners.

There are four ways to try Linux, you can:

1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience".
3) Dual-boot Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about Linux)
4) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with Linux (not recommended)

Before asking, please search for answers to your questions in resources.

Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly Linux Thread.

Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe wine can make up for it.

I have a challenge for you, /dpt/.

I'm going to post some C code later on in this post. This C code will print a single number to stdout. I want you, without compiling it to find out, to tell me what number will be printed to stdout.

I can't offer any rewards, but it's a very clever challenge and I'm interested to see how fast you lads can solve it.

Here's the code. It successfully compiles using gcc and normal warning/error flags.

int magic_function(int x) {
int *px = &x;
++*px++;
*px++ += *px++ + ++*px;
return px++;
}

int main(int argc, char *argv) {
printf("Remember, no cheating!\nThe mystery number: %i\n", magic_function(13));
return 0;
}

Read SMART data, check the quality of it.

No, I use Google because they track me less than your autism "private" and "safe" search engines.
