I like it quite a bit. So far I've only found a couple features missing from Photoshop.

I also changed the layout and theme so it looks a lot better. My go-to.

No. This is beyond dumb. You're paying out the ass for extra PCIE lanes on the 5930k and then you're not using them. You're paying out the ass for a giant wattage PSU and you're not using it. There's tons more I'd change, but it sounds like you're just guessing and have more money than knowledge.

I was thinking of buying one of these to make a dedicated web server with (for personal use/fun). Will I regret it?
14 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>51993571
Who are we to know if you will regret it?
Will you learn a lot in the process?
yes
You can always re-purpose it into something else if you do have ragrets.
>>
>>51993571
Why would you regret it? Sure you can regret that it was bunch of work but most people will be proud of their work even with all the time and effort invested in it. Besides that, I don't really see a reason to regret, besides the thing not being a very powerful server and regretting you should've used a better server hardware but you probably know that already too.
>>
Don't use it to run anything intensive and you should be good to go. Use it as your own iCloud or photo sharing server, if all else fails, just rebuild the pi into a pirate box

Anyone here still use XP as their main OS? Is it really unsafe now that MS is no longer putting out updates, or is that mostly fearmongering?

You're data will be fucked. Install some lightweight gnu/linux distro if the computer is slow. Maybe lubuntu.

What are the best websites (or books) where I can learn how to build my own computer? It would be a great asset to have, and I've always been curious about it.

Are you actually implying that building a PC is difficult? It's literally like building legos (not even memeing). It's so easy a retarded monkey could do it.

Simple challenge for /g/

The rules are simple
1. It must be a laptop
2. The total cost including shipping for all parts must be $100 or less
3. It must available to purchase publicly
4. No auctions

Other than this, it is up to you. Define "best" in whatever manner you feel appropriate.

Funny joke. Go buy some shittop off Craigslist.
>>
>>51992963
go on ebay, type in "thinkpad", select free shipping and take your pic.
Pretty much all thinkpads made before 2010 can be had for less than $100, I'm using one right now.
>>
>no auctions
Might as well not bother.

Old thinkpads are a definite go-to though. Business-class laptops on the cheap.
Old but they still work good.
