Not really, no. The past few weeks I've been using it I've really been hit hard by how slow it can be, and the lack of things like tail call elimination amongst other things.

It's fun to use though.

Prefer it to matlab anyday. Its a great scientific prototyping. It can be a bit slow for large simulations though.

Is there any good reason 4chan does not offer markdown for advanced post formatting?
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
1) Intentional restriction. 4chan doesn't need any text formatting. It wouldn't add to the content, which is meant to be fairly simple and disposable by design. Hence post length limits, auto saging, and limited number of threads per board

2) It would only be useful for shit posting. Even spoilers are cancerously abused.

3) Markdown is gross.

Markdown is awful. Html formatting is much better.

Are there any cheap, decent HBA cards like the PERC H200 reflashed to IT mode? I'm looking for something with at least 8 ports (>= 2x SFF-8087/8088), preferably one internal and one external.

Also, any suggestions for cheap 4-bay hotswap 3.5" SATA HDD enclosures that use a SFF-8087/8088 port?

I want to expand my storage (and passthrough the HBA card to an ESXi VM), but I made some rather poor choices with the case for my server/NAS

Semi related, I'm just looking for something with 8 ports that can handle sata port multiplexers. Something something poorfag.

Do you need an SSD for later OSX versions to not have shit boot times?

Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my GPS so I'm thinking of going for the R9 390. However I'm worried about bottlenecking it with my CPU. Would my i5 3550k deal with the 390 or is it worth upgrading my CPU too?

No need. Im sure whatever GPS you throw at it will track your location with great precision.

Dear /g/, im moving into ma new university apartment next year (potentially), the apartment is lovely with just been newly referbed etc... however it doesn't not have an Ethernet connection outlet, however the wifi speed is 100mb.
I play many video games, most of them using internet connection (Dota, CSgo, league). will this wifi speed be a problem without an Ethernet connection?

Is an powerline allowed?
A good wifi card should be fine
>>
Wifi can be a bit more unstable with lots of users, and might add a tiny bit more ping. Probably not horrible though if it's a professionally done wifi network. Wifi at my school is great, even though everyone is on their laptop on a single cisco access point per room.

Getting a strong wifi card with antennas might help get the best out of it.

even with the right equipment most people aren't able do distinguish 128 mp3 to the source. They think they do but never did an abx test, so there is no real reason to stream higher.

Who are these many?

Spotify, google both do 320, pandora is the worst at 192.

If you care about high quality get tidal.

Also, because most people can't tell the difference, or even care.

I think windows 10 is the best windows ever (honestly, not shilling here). But there is one BIG problem: the fucking spywares/telemery

Can someone explain how to disable the whole botnet thing so I can use windows 10 without the botnet knowing everything about me?
12 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>53711448
You can't, Uncle Sam needs to know everything about you to protect you. It's for the Greater Good.
>>
>>53711448
There is no "botnet" in windows 10. It is the most secure operating system on the market today. All the spyware bs is made up and way overblown. Windows 10 doesn't spy on people any more than Facebook and Google do. I think it's pretty funny how people cry about Microsoft wanting to gather a small amount of info about their computer while they go ahead and upload all their info on social media.
>>
>>53711448
Telemetry can easily be disabled from settings app. Also, Windows 10 doesn't "spy" on you like the paranoids would have you believe.
