How did people use those with those tiny screens? Looking them up on old-computers.com, the Osborne 1 in the OP has a 4.3" screen and the IBM 5110 in the second post has a 5" screen. Wouldn't that be extremely uncomfortable to use?

Ignore this guy. Stick to the Play store unless you really need freedumbz, then you can enable installing apps from outside sources. It's the number one source of Android infections.

Hey /g/ let's talk about MacBook Pros. While the general consensus is that they're overpriced, I've been unable to find something that is equal in quality or better. Am I retarded (if so it would be cool if you could say what laptop is better) or is this legit?

Sup /g/

Is now a good time to buy a new CPU? I know its not for GPUs since pascal is right around the corner, but what about processors?

I plan on playing some overwatch in the near future, and I don't give a fuck about overpriced Zens.

So, should I pull the trigger ?

Is that so?

Anyone here have experience with e-readers? I'm looking to maybe buy one for my girlfriend for her birthday, and probably one for myself as well. Which one is better? Kobo seems to be more open and free, but the kindle seems to be a more fluid/seamless reading experience. Also how is PDF performance and manga reading on either of them?

>>
>>53742372
Just got a Kindle Voyage a couple days ago. Thanks to programs like Calibre, you can essentially convert any file-type to MOBI, which Kindle uses. Books can be uploaded to your device through Wi-Fi, USB cable or 3G depending on if your device is enabled for 3G.

I love it. I've been reading like mad lately but to be super honest. Its a device that displays plaintext. You can't really go wrong with either model.

Welcome to /fg/lt/, or as I've recently taken to calling it, /fg+lt/. We are always open to users of all levels, including absolute beginners.

There are four ways to try GNU/Linux, you can:

0) Install a GNU/Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
1) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU/Linux experience".
2) Dual-boot GNU/Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about GNU/Linux)
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with GNU/Linux

Before asking, please search for answers to your questions in resources.

Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.

Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe WINE can make up for it.

My system recognizes my USB but I am unable to make a bootable one. When I try to boot from USB its just black screen with underscore at beginning.
I was using the dd command and Unetbootin too.
Sometimes I get "missing operating system" on USB boot...
How do I fix this, it worked several days ago normally and after I tried to make bootable 16.04 lubuntu it all went down

Hey guys, I help support a very small Law Firm and the owner is having some distrust with GoDaddy and wanted to know if there was an alternate solution for e-mail that will not cost 899$ per year.

GoDaddy is pretty much charging him for 2 premium 365 accounts which gets him 5 licenses each for a staff of 10. In total, close to a grand for email.

Is there some alternate e-mail solutions I can take a look at even if it means him purchasing two copies of office for each individual team member? Just jotting some ideas here, I'm stumped guys.

Use hostgator. I've never had an issue with them and they have really good deals on email.
>>
Google Apps or Office 366, those are really the only two good solutions. I'm sure they can afford either. $899 is fucking nothing.
>>
yeah I know "law firm" 899 should be nothing, he just thinks he's getting fucked. just he has it does not want to just dish it unless he has to. he wants the best deal and he fucking hates godaddy thanks anon

It's really hard for me to concentrate while I listen to music. Soundtracks are fine though, since they have no lyrics I could focus on and are generally meant to be in the background anyway. The LotR soundtrack is pretty chill.
