Because AMD realises that their niche is offering midrange cards for people who don't want to blow $1000 on a video card. I don't think AMD has released a card that defeated nvidia's performance in years.

>128bit bus
Isn't that the reason why the GTX 960 4GB version sucks dicks? Because a 128bit bus isn't good enough to make full use of 4gb?

install ECC
>>
>>53745807
Why do you need it?
>>
>>53745807
More data lines (72 bit vs 64 bit for non ECC), requires 1 extra memory chip per side for the error correction data, both increase complexity and cost of the memory module, the board (which requires the required data lines be physically present), and the CPU (which must support ECC ram on its memory controller, taking up die space).

Its also somewhat slower and noticeably more stressful on the memory controller.

1. Arch Linux, planning to Install Gentoo though.
2. Nice customizability, little bloat, very simple.
3. What does it not have? Not sure.
>>

>Which operating system do you use?
OSX master race
>Why do you use it?
It was preinstalled on my Macbook and after years with Lolbuntu and Windows, I wanted to give it a try. It works fucking great, never distracts me with shit, has all the software I want and looks damn nice. Not having to worry about maintenance compared to Windows is a joy too.
>What does it have that others don't based on your usage and personal experience?
Trackpad gestures. Unified UI. It generally doesn't draw attention to itself and just works. Doesn't need tweaks or long winded customisation and messing with settings.

Welcome to /fg/lt/, or as I've recently taken to calling it, /fg+lt/. We are always open to users of all levels, including absolute beginners.

There are four ways to try GNU/Linux, you can:

0) Install a GNU/Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
1) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU/Linux experience".
2) Dual-boot GNU/Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about GNU/Linux)
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with GNU/Linux

Before asking, please search for answers to your questions in resources.

Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.

Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe WINE can make up for it.

My worst misclick moment: Wanted to show my dad something on the internet.

Forgot I still had porn tabs saved for “later use” all the way to the left. (i.e. first tab was porn, and I was on tab 50 or so)

Accidentally scroll too far.

Not sure what private trackers are all about?

The mission of /ptg/ is to promote the highest possible standards of tracker service by providing members with opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its members.

Check out the wiki and update it yourself if you want more instead of complaining like a fucking faggot. https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/Private_trackers

Use >>>/g/ptg as a link to find the /ptg/ thread.

Remember the following:

>staff occasionally read these generals and have posted here before.
>staff may pretend to be normal users asking for invites and when you invite them, they ban you for inviting strangers
>people may report emails and other personal info posted here to staff to get you banned.
>most of the invite offers here are people trolling you with false hope - begging for invites is a waste of time and you should just interview
