My old h77, i7 3770, r9 270x worked out of the box, I only had to choose an audio kext once and everything else just werked, full video acceleration and shit.

Is there any reason 2048x2048 was settled on as the maximum size for webms on 4chan? Why even have a maximum resolution at all, so long as it comes in under 3MiB? I can't imagine it's a security thing, so it must be for optimization reasons—but there's no server-side encoding/decoding as far as I'm aware. Is it just a random "good enough" value?
