Got BM-700 and SOMAKE 7.1 just today. Works great and no noise so far. It's pretty funny that my mic now picks up clicks and even gentle typing.
Thank God for that SOMAKE card though, I couldn't pick up shit with onboard soundcard. I had to force +20dB to have even comparable loudness. Sad thing is that board isn't even some lowend shit.

That doesn't mean they can't legally resell Xiaomi goods, but they don't represent Xiaomi.
Xiaomi only has a handful of official local distributors in a select few countries outside China (India, Malaysia come to mind), but those don't ship internationally.
For everyone else the only authorized entity representing Xiaomi is Xiaomi itself.
That said, with Gearbest and Banggood and other such sellers, you'll at least know they don't send out fake Xiaomi devices.

Aliexpress also has many fakes. Not with the highly rated sellers that say it's all original genuine Xiaomi - they will have their (simple) supply chain under control and sell real goods.
But the ones with poor ratings that sell cheap "OEM" / "for Xiaomi" or whatever well, they almost certainly sell fakes. And not always at a price "appropriate" for an inferior imitation, and with sufficiently prominent information that it's a fake..

Today I got a Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, flashed the latest MIUI ROM and it's ready for sale.

And well, you could even do pretty much all of this with magnets, "google cardboard" button style.
Not to say you shouldn't have your fun with NFC if you have it, but asking why most Chinese (and actually most people on most continents) wouldn't pay extra for NFC is a bit of a stretch.
