A while back, µTorrent was packed with a bitcoin miner, and now it's packed with a ransomware Manamecrypt:
>The bundle consists of the genuine, working and properly signed µTorrent client with the malware component bundled “on top”
>Besides encrypting the files, Manamecrypt prevents certain applications from running if they have certain strings in their process name.

But of course, this is the best torrent client ever made, right /g/?

(Warning shitty blog post don't read)

tfw just switched from proprietary nvidia-drivers to nouveau + latest mesa from git.

Pretty much everything works the same or better. I have nice looking full resolution ttys, none of the weird nvidia drivers bugs and bullshit, compatibility with wayland and everything else with the native graphical stack, easier to update (e.g. no having to rebuild and install the nvidia drivers after every kernel upgrade), no more issues with applications changing the resolution, and 3D games actually feel smoother.

I get about 150 less fps in CSGO, however it feels smoother, with the nvidia-drivers I was actually having some kind of micro-stuttering all the time, same thing with melee in Dolphin.

I need to use compton for silky smooth rendering or else I get tearing, and I have to enable reclocking or else the card is almost useless though, which is done by configuring a value in /sys/kernel/debug/dri/1/pstate

Nouveau is not bad at all if you configure things right. In some cases it can actually beat the proprietary nvidia drivers in OpenGL performance, which I never thought would happen.

If you turn telemetry down to basic, it's impossible for you to ever be identified by the information gathered. Doing that and using a local account gives you total privacy on any edition of Windows 10.

>In 2011, Philip Zimbardo gave a TED Talk called "The Demise of Guys," which has been viewed by over 1.8 million people. A TED eBook short followed that chronicled how in record numbers men are flaming out academically and failing socially and sexually with women. This new book is an expansion of that brief polemic based on Zimbardo's observations, research, and the survey that was completed by over 20,000 viewers of the original TED Talk. The premise here is that we are facing a not-so-brave new world; a world in which young men are getting left behind. Philip Zimbardo and Nikita Coulombe say that an addiction to video games and online porn have created a generation of shy, socially awkward, emotionally removed, and risk-adverse young men who are unable (and unwilling) to navigate the complexities and risks inherent to real-life relationships, school, and employment. Taking a critical look at a problem that is tearing at families and societies everywhere, "Man, Interrupted" suggests that our young men are suffering from a new form of "arousal addiction," and introduce a bold new plan for getting them back on track. The concluding chapters offer a set of solutions that can be affected by different segments of society including schools, parents, and young men themselves. Filled with telling anecdotes, results of fascinating research, perceptive analysis, and concrete suggestions for change, Man, Interrupted is a book for our time. It is a book that informs, challenges, and ultimately inspires.

This should be required reading in every high school freshman class.

What are some other books that are required reading for /g/entoomen?

Welcome to /fglt/. We are always open to users of all levels, including absolute beginners.

There are four ways to try GNU/Linux, you can:

0) Install a GNU/Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
1) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU/Linux experience".
2) Dual-boot GNU/Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about GNU/Linux)
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with GNU/Linux

Before asking, please search for answers to your questions in resources.

Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.

Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe WINE can make up for it.
