Is Vulkan cutting edge, or bleeding edge?
Sounds like the programming of it wouldn't be as weird as WebGL/OpenGL is, but there are apparently only two finished games running Vulkan.

Haven't seen one lately, so let's have one!

Criticise and give advice on how to better one's rendering.

Today's wikipedia page is the one for the chinese town "Yinchuan".

Is Infinality Bundle with the MS preset the closest I can get to Windows 7-style font rendering on Linux? Seems pretty close but just slightly heavier. I'm so used to Windows hinting that everything else looks gross to me.

What's up /g
I'm considering buying a good PC with a low budget (I am already decided on the fact that I will use a pirated version of windows 7).
So here is the preview of my build : any thoughts ?Do you think the i3 will bottleneck the r9 380 ?

get i5 instead
>>
>>55373497
i3+AMD is a bad choice. Either get i3+Nvidia or at least an i5 if you want AMD.

AMD drivers have a larger overhead putting more load on the CPU. And i3's are already kinda weak anyway.
>>
>>55373497

get a last gen i5

If you use still use MSE then you don't have any common sense. They're incompatible with each other.

I bought pic related with 2 fans with 3 pins and no pwm.
Now I realized my mATX motherboard ( H97-ME) only has 1 cpu fan and 2 chassis fan connectors, both being 4 pin.
Does it make any difference if I connect one to the cpu and one to the chassis connectors since they'll consistently run at 700 rpm anyway?

BoboVR Z3/Z4 and you are ready to go. <20$ in Aliexpress and optics Samsungs GearVR-tier
>>
>>55373449
What about Freefly VR? I checked prices at the local auction website and it's cheaper than BoboVR in my country for some reason.
>>
>>55373551

BoboVR Z3/4 let you adjust the lenses in many directions, so you get the sweet and personal spot where your eyes and brain do not suffer. Plus the lenses are bigger. Never tried the Freefly, but it is missing the important stuff, so I would not bother.

I have tried GearVR thougj, technically "the best one". Only different with the BoboVR was better peripheral vision, the rest was the same (obviously not taking sensors into consideration)

>I have plenty of power supplies, have to get a new motherboard. I even had the clock speed on the GPU's clocked at 1000. Oh well, gives me an excuse to get better cards in a month or so. Until then, get a new MB and put the 280s back in.

>I know, but funny thing, I have ran 3 280x's on that system for years with non powered risers and have never had a problem. These draw less power but fried the board. Powered risers (and a new motherboard) or on the way. I'll wait to see what comes out with the 2nd gen of the 480s

Its probably a shitty AMD processor. I doubt the 480 overvolts that much.
>>
>>55373277
The reported issue with the 480 literally could not cause the 24-pin connector to fry like that. That's not how motherboards work.
