Some games run better on NVidia, some games run better on AMD.

Get used to it, because we're going to get "console quality performance"(Direct quote from loo from AMD) for the next years.

Wanted to ask, if installing Windows 7 on a fresh install, what edition of Windows should be used?
I have heard that Enterprise edition is a fine choice, and some things about it not including the Windows 10 malware and such.

Please confirm. Asking for myself and a friend.

Pic unrelated.

Op here, thanks
>>
I don't know anything about Enterprise edition or whether it can ignore the Win10 shit, but if you're just gonna use Daz Loader or something you might as well just get Ultimate edition. Of course you'll be fighting against the upgrade ads if you use Windows Update.

I just do this:
-Disconnect computer from router
-Fresh install of Win7 Ultimate
-Activate with Daz
-Disable WIndows Update
-Install all updates currently available with Simplix pack (or something similar)
-Make sure Windows Update is still disabled after all this, and before you connect to the internet again
-Never update again and enjoy

Hey nerds, I've been a long time Debian user and am considering switching to Ubuntu when I get my new computer. Are there any privacy issues with Ubuntu other than the Amazon spyware?

Just use ubuntu gnome or some other variant without unity

So its no longer an issue?

How install Ubuntu on a laptop running Windows 10. I've tried before and almost fucked the whole thing up. Links to tutorials are fine.

The web browser was painfully slow. I just really want to run programs and access the net.

If you can't even install Ubuntu just stay on windows
>>
Download the Ubuntu ISO. Write it to a USB drive using Win32DiskImager. Restart the computer and boot from the USB. Follow the installation instructions. Since it's a laptop, you're very likely to need to select "install proprietary/third-party software and drivers" during the installation. That's it.

As far as making it work well, that's a learning process. Early on you'll be using the software center to manage your programs and such. Eventually you'll get used to working in the terminal. Then you can consider switching away from Unity, purging bloat, etc.

I switched from Win10 to Ubuntu on my laptop and it works great. I'm using it right now to reply to you.
