That's neat. Reminds me of this gem: https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/202143/i-included-emoji-in-my-password-and-now-i-cant-log-in-to-my-account-on-yosemite

I'd give Swift a go on Linux when it's more developed.

What is the difference between Linux distributions?

In most of them? The name and the logo only :P

Only a feel have more significant difference...
>>

Different:
>package managers
>system configuration
>default software installed
>desktop environments

Since they're all open source you can always get the software of one distro on another.

The reason to choose one of the big distros (Debian based, Redhat based, Arch, Gentoo) is the vast software repositories make it easier to install what you're after.

Three years ago installed 2 YATE LOON D12SM-12 fans in my case. (after lubricating their sleeve bearings with machine oil)

I've found them to be satisfactory in noise level and cooling performance.

They were so inexpensive that I was able to buy 3, eat the loss on 1 being defective with no warranty, and still come out ahead compared to just buying two more expensive fans of similar performance.

Now, after 3 years, they are wearing out and I need to replace them.

I've been looking around to see if anything has come out on the market since the last 3 years that offers the same performance, for less money, and a longer service life.

so far I have not found anything.

As I said before they we're quiet enough, and cooled well enough that, for my purposes, paying more for fans that are quieter and/or move more air would constitute a waste of money.

I can currently get them for $5.99 a pop (before shipping) at http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/yateloonfans.html

Do you have any recommendations for things of equal or greater performance at the same price?

noctua meme fans, they are also a lovely poo in the loo brown to go with your poo in the loo AMD meme machine.
>>
Let me get this straight. You bought some fans for six dollars which lasted three years and performed well during that time, and you're asking us for something better? Two dollars a year is pretty good if you're satisfied with the quality and performance, dumb fuck.
>>
Just buy the same fans, you're not going to be happy if you get something else.

As we all know, Stallman will probably die in our lifetime.
We should therefore program an AI to carry him on.

We should call it GNU Stallman and it should run on GNU/Hurd.

How should we start?

Why the FUCK hasn't 4chan adopted WebP yet?

Full res of pic related here: /g/ here:

https://my.mixtape.moe/nqvdrz.png

WebP offers:
-lossy encoding
-lossless encoding
-transparency
-animations
-lower lossless file size compared to PNG
-lower file sized compared to JPG at the quality
It's literally the best general purpose format that there can exist for the web. It replaces PNG, JPG, and even GIF.

I was away for couple of days but my wife received 1) cheap mini raspi wifi dongle
2) in the post box there were bicycle wires
3) and in the post office there were the gaybans (pic from seller), but they look like that, sturdy, metal hingies, logos + etched RB on lens
4) 10m HDMI <> HDMI, the first one I received was mini HDMI on one end, they sent me another one and I got an adapter for the first one.
