Seriously, what the fuck. I had issues with Microsoft before, but this just reached a new fucking level.
Like everyone else, I got forced to install Windows 10. I always deactivated auto-updates for this reason, but no, it updated even if I didn't want to. Woke up in the morning with this crap.
Then, I couldn't find my files, they were in Windows.old. Phew ! Still there ! Woohoo !
No. Everything is deleted now. Since my computer was relatively new, I had no backups.
I am looking on the interwebz and this happened to so many people; Windows 10 installed itself without the consent of many people and it deleted their windows.old folder after one month, without warnings. What the fuck is this ? This should straight up be illegal.
I searched on the net and I can't find anything to help me. Is there any way to recover my deleted files, or are they really permanently deleted ?
This is bullshit and if I can't recover my files, I will never buy any products from Microsoft ever again, nothing. I will pay a Mac 5x the price, I don't give a fuck, at least they won't fuck me in the ass for no reasons. I didn't have really important files, but it is just a matter of principles. It is MY computer, don't fucking touch it you fucking Microsoft faggots.

Even If you do a backup every day, Microsoft would still have deleted some of your files and if you havent done a backup a second before it, you lost some files. I don't understand how you believe this is actually okay

Is it safe to update android firmwares using third-party downloads? Specifically, I have an LG P970 optimus black, got bored of Android 4.0.4. and wanted to update to Lollipop or Marshmallow only to find out that those are not provided for this model. I ran into

My Galaxy S4 is running Android 4.3, but to my understanding it's supposed to be able to run newer versions then that.
I go to Settings > More > About Device > Software Update, but it always tells me "The latest updates have already been installed." But right on that same page it says the Android Version is 4.3.
So how can this be? Is there any way I get it to update?

In all honesty, Richard Stallman is the reason why Linux can't win in the desktop world. We know that Linux (kernel) is tried and true, and functions great. When you start piling on all of the GNU shit, you get distributions like Ubuntu that aren't useful in real life work situations.

its probably because someone who had your IP before you landed on it (dynamic IP) probably blocked 4chan using opendns, and since you use opendns, it still thinks your IP is supposed to filter out 4chan.

Just got this LG 29" ultra wide monitor. $220 out the door.
It's pretty cool. But not as big as I need. I can only start to see pixels when I'm really close to it, so it's kind of a waste. I miss my 50" 1080p but that is just too big for gaming and htpc is only about 30% of its use.
Anyways, I really like how cool it stays. It doesnt make my room a fucking sauna and it seems to turn itself off after I am done watching a movie.
But I don't like how csgo and gtav don't support it natively.
What other monitors/tv's have low heat and turn themselves off but are like 27"-40" 1920x1080 and 16:9 or 16:10?
