Is it safe to update android firmwares using third-party downloads? Specifically, I have an LG P970 optimus black, got bored of Android 4.0.4. and wanted to update to Lollipop or Marshmallow only to find out that those are not provided for this model. I ran into

And was wondering if it was even possible, let alone safe, to use this kind of guides.
How do you /g/entlemen deal with this kind of problem?

What are the risks? I mean, could I brick my phone or are we just talking about losing datas?
I thought Windows Phone was just a meme. How is it any good?
Totally not safe, look on cyanogenmod wiki or XDA forums instead.
