What are you talking about, OP? I took a course last quarter where every student in a 500 person class had to implement a rudimentary AI.
If you're talking about an AI that's on par with human intelligence, I'm not sure if we can get into that discussion not knowing how savvy you are about the subject. If you're basically a novice to computing, the only answer I can give you that won't lose you is that it's really complicated.

Build a portfolio, and learn on your own. The certifications are just so the HR departments will look at your resume.

Design costs money. I'd rather have a fancy Monster cable than some Chinese shop one. But I can't afford the Monster.
Buying anything other than an iPhone is a reactionary act: you are choosing not to buy an iPhone for some reason (spoken or unspoken): either because you hate Apple, or are trying to save money, or harbor philosophical beliefs of what your technology should allow you to do, etc. No one chooses to buy an Android or what have you (obviously). There's always some psychological turmoil lurking just beneath the surface of that decision.
But not just at the time of purchase. No! Then you constantly need to bother your friends and family about how XYZmessenger is way better than iMessage (please use it, guys?). Or that customizable widgets are totally worth the sociological ostracism, that's why you bought a phone right? To customize the icons. So cool you guys. You're isolated in a cul-de-sac of your own making, but at least you can pretty it up. Constant, ongoing psychologically-draining drama basically.
Buying an iPhone, by comparison, has no shadowy subtext. iPhone is synthesis, anything else is antithesis.

He made the right choice and I didn't and my dissonance got the best of me.
