So samsung has officially signed their death certificate.
>no removable back or battery
>no microSD
>complete and utter clone of iphone 6 but with a rectangle button

In light of this news, I'll be getting myself a note 4. Officially the last decent samsung phone.
So how about a thread where we greentext what samsung could have done to take over the market with the s6 instead of this complete blunder?Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

How do I replace Dropbox, /g/?
Yeah yeah, I know "no cloud provider is 100% secure". But Dropbox has fucking Condoleeza "warrantless wiretapping is great" Rice on their board of directors. There has to be a line somewhere.
Can /g/ recommend a good, easy to use backup/sync utility, that preferably works on Linux and OS X? I know alternatives like tarsnap and btsync exist but those seem like a ton of work to figure out and I just want an easy solution.
Are you storing CP on the cloud or what
I honestly don't care condolezza rice is monitoring my book collection

No, I'm not storing CP. And if I had really sensitive information, I wouldn't put it on any cloud service like that.
But Jesus Christ, I just don't want to support a company that gets into bed with people like that. There has got to be a better solution, based in Europe or something - right? Right?
I may have to occasionally take my clothes off for inspection but...

Are you really going to continue using inefficient software that sells out to Google, /g/?
uBlock is freedom. Adblock is dead.

>After coming under intense pressure PayPal has closed the account of cloud-storage service Mega. According to the company, SOPA proponent Senator Patrick Leahy personally pressured Visa and Mastercard who in turn called on PayPal to terminate the account. Bizarrely, Mega's encryption is being cited as a key problem.

ITT: we list things we would want to be mainstream already.
Please keep it realistic.
I will start
>4k displays and content
>SSDs for the price of HDDs
>60fps films
>No roaming in the EU
>Virtual Reality
>ac wifi
>LED streetlamps emitting white/blueish light
>>46771877
quad boards, 16 core cpus, gb ram for the price of gb hdd space, ...
why would you want these things to become mainstrain ? not many people need 4k displays, or ssds and noone needs 60 fps movies.
and in a few years you'll create the same thread about 8k displays, 120 fps movies, etc anyway
>>46771877
>LED streetlamps emitting white/blueish light
Street lights are yellow/orange for a good reason. Blue at night is bad for your eyes.
>>46771877
4k displays are already out (maybe not the content) the only problem is that windows DPI scaling sucks major balls
also SSDs are dirt cheap nowadays.
I ask the Gnome users: what are the coolest themes you recommend? As you can see, my system is newly installed and Gnome is "raw".

Old thread isn't dead yet.
since new bread, new question...
has anyone successfully transplanted the guts from a x220t to the non tablet x220 chasis. i have an x220 that i love dearly that is being a pain and am in the mood to fix it using such a method...
want to get my first think pad, it's gonna be used mostly for coding and a bit of pen testing.
cant decide between the t420/t430 and X220
im a bit hesitant about the low res screen on the X220, seems like it would be horrible for multitasking. also opinions on getting a refurbished tp on newegg?
Is this truly the future of mobile phones /g/?
I like the idea but I don't think any companies will invest and make their own modules for it so it will probably fall flat on it's face.
Just like that that stupid crowdsourced laptop that's as large and as heavy as three 15.6" normal laptops with the power of a netbook and the cost of a MBP but "muh open sourced hardware," of course it'll be popular with /g/.
Many major companies won't want to because they'll lose profit, but I think they'd make more if they sell a screen for $100 to people who can't afford their $500+ phones, they'd actually make more by getting new customers in the long run
is that the iphone 7?
