howdy guise.
i'm being sued by a movie company for torrenting a movie. my lawyer suggested settling because if i deny it they might be able to 'create a profile' based on my internet activity (e.g. how much i torrent and such) to show that i'm full of shit. does anyone know what exact info they have access to?

>does anyone know what exact info they have access to?
1. Ask you're lawyer, not a bunch of computer nerds on an anime image board.
2. It's a law thing, not a technical thing. You're ISP may or may not keeps logs of everything you do. It's entirely up to them. Call and ask about there data collection and retention policies if you really want to know.
3.It's a legal matter. If you're ISP does keep logs and the prosecution files a subpoena they may hand over all, some or none of the logs depending on the situation.
4. I am not a lawyer and none of this is actual legal advice. In fact I pulled most of this out of my ass.
>>
Your lawyer's an idiot. If they're suing you it's because they saw you torrent their movie. They don't need a "profile," they have their logs of the torrent swarm showing you uploading their content to them.
Your only chance is if your state courts agree that an IP isn't an identity, so you may be able to get the case thrown out based on the fact that they can't link the infringing activity to you.

Considering you're on the hook for a few hundred thousand dollars, you might want to look into settling. It'll probably be a few grand.

Hey OP, I am one of the G3 owners from yesterday.

I've got an M7 which I love the hardware. I got CM12 on it. it's got a few bugs, and it drains my battery more than factory 4.4. I was looking at pacman rom or GPE.

Is C just a meme language or is it really the best lightweight language?
115 posts and 15 images submitted.
>>
It's great.
But the reason it's lightweight is that there is little abstraction. You sacrifice ease of production for power.
>>
>>46831447
No serious programmer will ever use C. There is a reason C++ has two pluses - because it's just that much better.

Default encryption on Lollipop not happening after all.

Announced early in 2014, still not implemented as of 2015, slanted for a later release in the "near future".

Fragmentation is real, as it seems.

close, but no cigar.

it's actually simpler, google profits from lack of privacy, not privacy

but i always see jobs on cragislist where the listing says, "A+ cert or on the track to completing test"

just depends on the job i suppose

>tfw failed A+

It's not enough to guarantee you're gonna land a job, that's for sure. It's just another notch on required skills lists that you can scratch off.
>>
>Took the first test, passed it easily
>Never bothered to take 2nd test

I'm also "PC Pro" certified, but it's a giant joke of a certification. I had to take the test as my final for my CIT class last year. 3 people passed, and it was easy as shit. It had 15 questions.

Never seen one of these, so thought it would be worth a try.

>How many devices do you have on your network? Wired or wireless?
3 wired: raspberry pi, gaymen desktop, home server)
wireless 2-6 devices at any time: chromecast, laptop, phones

>How autistic and/or racist is your wireless network's SSID?
"who called the cops?". Leftover from my old apartment where neighbors called the cops on us all the time

>What kind of router do you have? Does it run DD-WRT, Tomato, Open-WRT, or proprietary botnet software?
some generic Trendnet router running botnet

>Do you live in a Wifi Jungle? How do you cope?
my apartment complex only has comcast, so everyone just has the stock comcast router/modem gateways. For some reason they only allow channel 6 or 11 so there are 10+ networks on either of those channels. Wireless runs ok on channel 8, but if I'm not close to the transmitter I need to use ethernet.

>How many devices do you have on your network? Wired or wireless?
2 wired
3 private wlan
6+ open wifi

>How autistic and/or racist is your wireless network's SSID?
Mai Wi-Fu, Freewifi

>What kind of router do you have? Does it run DD-WRT, Tomato, Open-WRT, or proprietary botnet software?
Pfsense on a VM.

>Do you live in a Wifi Jungle? How do you cope?
Yes, and i use the least used channel.
