Fuck off.
There's no need to install any flavor of Loonix when you have OS X.
Got a retina one too, it's great.

Who do you trust more, Google or Apple?
For me it's apple because they held out so long on Prism, only giving in after Steve Job's death.
apple, of course. they don't make money off collection and sale of users' information.
apple's customers are the people they sell their products to. google's customers are gov agencies and advertisers.
once Apple sells you a device, that's it. they've made their money and they continue improving the software and continue protecting your privacy.
once someone sells you something with Google on it, the monetization of YOU has just started. google spends years learning about you and then they exploit your psychological weaknesses by targeting you with useless shit that you'll buy. and that's how they make their money.
it's usually poor people who get fucked by Google since they can't afford Apple's devices and Google's users are usually less educated people who are easier to exploit.

Apple. I don't like their hardware but their OS is nearly perfect for webdev/C++.

Why hasn't anyone punished Apple for refusing to use standards such as MicroUSB but use the shitty lightning connector?
Companies don't follow rules until their projected sales/profits are encroached upon.
Because all apple users love the size and reversibility i guess. fucks me.
Well the EU did punish apple.
Didn't really work though since instead of changing their format they just released adaptor cables.

I don't know /G/, when I said I wanted to make games I figured I would be coding everything from scratch. I diddnt realize all these big name programs people use are just copy pasting other peoples work onto objects to make a game. Why is this a thing? How many people out there make games and dont know anything about it. Obviously I cant listen to my friends about this, What do I do, I'm thinking I should learn C# and use something like monogame to code.
Why reinvent the wheel when you can just pay for let's say an AI system someone has already implemented? It's just saving time and money.
>>46868837
I just figured you people did this for fun, To be able to dynamically solve hurdles in making your game and slowly watch your creation come out of nothing but hard work and knowledge of coding, I'm just sort of dissapointed is all

Who do people on /g/ care so much about minimal RAM usage?
They even go so far as to disable caching, prefetch, superfetch, etc despite it having no effect on their ram availability.
Cached memory can be purged when a program requests more memory for itself.
Unused RAM is wasted RAM!
If you want to bloat your RAM, go on, install and run stupid shit you don't need.
I care about lifetime, temperatures and performance.
Look at SSDs, would you really use every GB, although it hurts it's lifespan?
I don't think so.
>>46865981
>I care about lifetime
lel
Do you think less OS memory usage is going to give your RAM sticks more lifetime? Also that shit tends to come with a lifetime warranty anyway.
If you have to load more into memory when you open an application it will take longer to load.
I don't mind using ram for things applications that use it.
I do mind that a lot of applications is using resources inefficiently and thus being slower than they need to be.
If I were to look up a datasheet for something I would most likely open my browser and make a search to find it.
Then I would simply click on the link to view the pdf.
If this is done with firefox I would be using 150-200MB of ram. If the pdf file was handed over to an application made for viewing pdf's it would use a lot less resources.
Even the browser could be more efficient. Alternative browsers use 40-70MB of ram to do the same thing (although they rarely have the plugins available so I personally use firefox).
