Let's face it /g/, because of Chrome, Firefox will be a kill. And MS's new Spartan browser will put the final nail in the coffin. It's also nonexistent on mobile with most people using chrome or safari.

when did everything go so wrong?

Works on my machine.

Ms anything = no thanks
>>
I'm curious about Spartan myself
If it'll work better than FF and have extension support with all I need (uBlock, stylish) then why wouldn't I switch to it when I go W10?

Buy a few computers, a few thousand dollars of other things I want, go to the best specialized doctors I can find, and take a trip to Japan.

How dare you question the security of a proprietary tool developed by a company that has to obey the NSA, of course it is secure.

Hello /g/
I really need your help seriously. I need to buy a new laptop but I havent decided yet.

Im going to use it for:
Editing videos
A lot of stuff from Adobe (ilustrator, photoshop)
College homeworks

I still havent decided yet between these two because i quite dont understand the specifications. Im mentioning the Lenovo because Im quite a gamer and having a laptop that perfoms games like these one is cool, though I dont know how is going to perform for the stuff that i mention. And the Macbook pro is here because I know its good for the stuff i want, but sadly there arent many games for Mac.

If someone can help me to choose with a good argument any of these two, Ill be grateful. This is serious please!

The mac doesn't have malware pre-installed, so buy that if these are your only two choices.
>>
>>46808187
what do you mean by malware pre-installed? Sorry for the ignorance.
>>
>>46808190
Lenovo has literally been installing malware to deliver targeted ads that had the side effect of leaving you vulnerable to a man in the middle attack. Seriously.

Why reddit is so insecure?

Fucking bottom tier garbage. Get your shit together anon

Let's talk about real operating systems for use with old computers. None of this live CD Puppy Linux or Damn Small Linux BS. I'm talking about a real full-featured OS that can still be used in 2015.

My choices I've been thinking about so far for stuff that's 10 years old or older.

I'll start, and add some more posts for each OS with pros and cons. You may do the same if you wish, including redo-ing mine.

Windows XP

Pros
>still has a ton of support and compatibility from vendors
>easy to find drivers for practically any hardware
>very well documented OS
>fairly low system requirements
>easy to rice

Cons
>Microsoft ended support unless you trick it into thinking it is an embedded system
>vulnerable to lots of attacks, have to be an experienced internet user if you plan on going online
>requires some fine tuning of services to get good performance
>not very interesting from a hobbyist perspective
>ricing is mostly window dressing

Why the fuck would you ever use a dinosaur computer? Just recycle it and buy a new one.
>>
>>46810076
FreeBSD
>>
Debian
>Can still be pretty minimal
>Install XFCE which is lightweight but still fully featured, or XFCE+other WM.
>Still updated, obviously
>Can run modern programs
>Easier than windows because of package management
Cons
>The usual linux cons
>Might get some oddbal hardware that doesn't work
>Debian stable is old shit
