Why have you not joined the VP9 master race, /g/?

>>
Because 4chan doesn't support VP9 and VP9 is worse than HEVC.

Wrong, read the article

>In April 2015, Streaming Media published comparative results showing that HEVC and VP9 produced virtually identical quality on the nine test samples. This was followed in November 2015 by the first HEVC comparison released by the prestigious Moscow State University (MSU) Graphics and Media Lab. In its study, MSU found that HEVC produced the same quality as x264 at 82% of the data rate, with VP9 close behind at 87%, ahead of all other HEVC codecs.

VP9 is superior to HEVC
>>
>>54797378
>VP9 close behind
>David Ronca, Netflix’s director of encoding technologies ... stated "we are seeing very good results with VP9 vs. x264. Our current data suggests that VP9 is less efficient than HEVC, but still very good.

Installing programs on windows
>download installer
>run antivirus scan to make sure it's safe
>run the exe
>get prompted to install a hundred other programs and ad-ons
>have to reboot windows before it works

Installing programs on Ubuntu/Fedora
>search in software center
>double click on it
Or
>download the rpm/deb from the developer
>double click on it
>press install

Why is windows so complicated and difficult to use?

don't you have anything better to do than repost the same pasta bait every few hours?

My music player, if you call it that, is Google play music, wich runs in my browser.

Best thing ever, I uploaded all my music to their service, subscribed to their unlimited access streaming plan, and now get to enjoy my music across all of my devices wherever I go, regardless of wireless coverage.

I'm able to store as much music from their streaming service on my device as I can fit, so I don't chew through data when I'm on the go. The playlist syncing is great too.

Can someone draw which way the air flows on this? I'm so confused, why would it blow the hot air down? or does it not do not? fuck me ass

In the pic you can see some fins through the fan (top edge), also along the bottom edge, this is where 90% of the air will come out. Some air will also come out the front and back as well. Basically it goes everywhere. For open cards you generally want to remove the PCI bracket covering the slot just below it and also have a case fan blowing across the card for optimal cooling.

>>54796392
This is what a reference/blower-style cooler does, but nearly all custom card designs throw the heat back into the case.
>>
>>54796323
It blows away from the PCB, usually GPU fans blows towards.

Modern-day VR is a meme playing on the hype of a Holodeck-level experience and """""""actual""""""" virtual reality. Oculus, Vive, Morpheus and Gear are just screens, meaning they won't deliver anything you can't already experience with your current monitor and are only going to be a hassle to use compared to your current monitor. They are going to sell a couple million units and then no one will buy them when they realize it takes more energy to move around your head with a display strapped to it when you can just sit facing a nice large 1080p/4K display in natural light and get the same visual information.

Guarantee no one would give a shit about any of this pseudo-VR tech if they called it the 'Oculus HMD' on their original kickstarter

inb4 "it's just the 1st gen!!!" as if the iPhone is going to go from a phone to an interdimensional transporter in a couple of generations
and inb4 "FPS and racing games will benefit from this alot!!!" exactly what was said about motion controls but no one wants to flail their arms around like a retard when you can use a joystick with a lot less physical energy and achieve the same thing

You sound just like my retarded uncle when he said "wow, anon, I can't believe you bought a surround sound system. you know you only have two ears, right?"

If you don't want it, don't buy it, but don't say retarded shit to try to imply that you're better than everyone else because you don't want something.

Go buy a lifetime supply of soylent so you can start telling people how they're wasting their time by cooking and using spices.

One of the things I like about Java and Ruby is the documentation lists and specifies all the methods and properties of every built-in object, every function details what it expects, and what it outputs.

Why can't other languages do the same? Good look trying to get the same info from the python docs, not just bad examples and random ass stories about accented words in French.

I've always felt that the Java docs are complete, but absolutely horrible to navigate and read.
>>
>>54796004
I don't think you're supposed to read the docs, it's more of a quick reference thing.
>>
>>54796026
false, unless you only hack code others have already written.
I devote the majority of my time to reading SDK docs, that's how you truly learn about the platform
