Tried PCBSD on my x220 and it idled at 10C higher temperature than on linux, also battery life was kinda crappy. Even tweaking lots of sysctls didn't help

Would it be better with openbsd?
>>
>>54801707
Only one way to find out.

The devs do run it on their thinkpads, I hope you don't have a nvidia GPU though.
>>
Are any of the BSDs actually useable day to day? I mean, like, I'm a programmer and I love tinkering with OS', but I do also need an office suite and working audio and shit.

It takes a based man to improve the GNU/linux OS. Lennart Poettering is doing more for linux in a day than all of /g/ in a year.

>I use OpenRC, and I have a problem...

There are two big problems with OpenRC: first, most if not all OpenRC systems
are completely broken (missing daemons, lingering processes, etc. are just the
tip of the iceberg); secondly, it should be called GNU/OpenRC.

For these reasons, it is impossible to support OpenRC on Linux. Problems
appearing on OpenRC systems will usually simply be ignored unless they can be
reproduced on non-OpenRC systems.

Are there any browsers as customizable/riceable as firefox? Seems like everything else is a chrome reskin and chrome looks like butt. It doesn't fit in with anything and insists on drawing its own everything.

On a side note, have all the normies left /g/ yet? When I was last on a few days ago the place was flooded with them.

6700k, 5820k is meme at the moment.
>>
5820k is more expensive when you factor in motherboard cost. It has better multithreaded performance, but worse per core performance.
If you do actual work, you'll probably find the extra cores and threads somewhat useful, but if you only play video games, shitpost on 4chan and watch youtube videos there's almost no reason to get the 5820k.
>>
>>54798018
>6700k costs as much as a 5820k
>literally 4790k with nearly no improvement
>5820k has an OC expectancy of 4.4ghz
>single core performance becomes same or even better with OC
>multi core is better even at the crippled stock clocks

If the tiny amount of extra money that you have to pay for the motherboard isn't a problem, just get an 5820k.
