I got a good deal on this, most Z97 motherboards are $180+, Like this one, i got it for $130 on amazon.
A B85 motherboard is only $10 less so why not?
MSI PC Mate is $140, so are most H97 motherboards.
So I really want to leave my current provider (WideOpenWest "WoW" Cable). My current plan is 30MB Internet with Basic Cable (nearly all non-premium channels are included). My current price for this package is $110 with no contract. I saw online that Comcast offers an $89 2-year plan that's almost exactly the same. Right now, my here is my bill broken down into specifics: - Base TV+Internet Bundle = $110/month - HDDVR Lease = $13/month - Sports Surcharge = $2/month - Taxes = $5.42/month I will have my own Comcast-approved Cable modem. So, is it worth switching to Comcast for 2 years? Note that I will have to pay a mandatory $49 installation charge which really angers me, but still.

NO, but that wouldn't surprise me. But money is tight right now and that deal just sounds too good. Besides that, how many times would I ever need to call customer service anyway? I've had Comcast before WoW, I actually called WoW MORE than I EVER called Comcast. I honestly don't remember calling Comcast even ONCE during the 3-4 years that I had them nearly 8 years ago.

Stupid Questions Thread, because I can't find an active one right now.
I have a password on my computer (Win 7). If I lock it, it needs it, if I sleep it, it doesn't. Is there a way to make it need a password out of sleep mode?
And speaking of sleep mode, I have a question about my phone. It's a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge running Android, and I have it set to do a "dream mode" or whatever they call the screen saver while it charges to prevent screen burn. When I use it as a media thing it my car, I plug in a charger to keep the screen lit, but after turning that on it goes to the screensaver and locks after a minute or so. Is there a way to make it stay on if an audio jack is on or some exception to make it stay on?

We talk a lot on how can we have a year of the Linux desktop around here but Microsoft pushes his propaganda everywhere, something we don't because being a community we get trolls cutting motivation But in if we don't put effort to promote Linux.
You probably seem the teens react to windows 95 video, but instead of complaining let's think, this can be our chance. If we insist enough to petition the Fine brothers to talk about modern Linux, and easy distros like [KLX]ubuntu, the fact that is community powered, riceable (yes even that), and more friendly to our privacy and freedoms, we might have a chance.
Let's petition the Fine Brothers to make this possible, let's show them our community and start posting comments on their videos insisting on showing what our community has to offer.

Here's where I disagree with you. We don't need to promote Linux. Or a distro. Or any operating system at all. There is no reason to promote change to someone who has a system that works fine for them.
If they are fed up with the botnet, or the UI items, or shitty programs, or <insert X feature that linux arguably does better than windows>, they will look for an alternative themselves.
The fact that I am very content with the speed of navigating WM, very little mouse use and the pro's that come with CLI programs, I do not feel any incentive to convince anyone near my to ditch windows: they will probably have a very unpleasant experience anyway. I do not *need* to teach them to "change their mindset" or whatever just because I think someday they will understand and be grateful for it.
That said, OS/distro/"kernel" wars are what is killing /g/ and "year of the linux desktop" is one of the phrases you know damn well triggers this shit.

I somehow broke the AMOLED in my Galaxy S4 last night (probably using jaws of life with it in my pocket)
Anyway, it's goin to cost me like $160 to have it fixed, and I can buy another used phone on amazon for around the same.
Right now I'm really looking at the Galaxy S5 Active. Looks like it's better than the S4 in almost every way, and I have one in my Amazon cart (of course in the /k/ommando green color) for $169 plus shipping.
Are there better alternatives in the same price range? Anything I should know before checking out?
