I have a low opinion of Gentoo GNU/Linux.

Gentoo is a GNU/Linux distribution, but its developers don't recognize this; they call it "Gentoo Linux". That means they are treating me and the GNU Project disresepectfully.

More importantly, Gentoo steers the user towards nonfree programs, which is why it is not one of our recognized free distros.

Gentoo has license groups, which means you can install free software only by masking software with non free licenses. Gentoo is the only major distro which you can have fully free software without having to use a spinoff distro.

Not true.
Debian is 100% libre by default.

Hey guys,

I'm about to wipe my win7 ultimate gaming PC and was wondering if I should just reinstall win7 or should I take this time to jump to 8.1 or 10 instead? Thanks.

Read the stick, install gentoo.

Stick with 7, you'll be sorry with 8 or anything after and if you aren't immediately eventually you'll just go back to 7 anyways. Don't waste your time.

What is the best program for hiding files on Android?
For example, I want to save images on 4chan (SFW and NSFW) but I don't want my roommate to accidentally find them.
And yes, It'll be used for porn too. Don't ask.

Learn java, progress to C++.

Using java is great for learning because the compiling is minimal meaning you can easily test tiny changes to the code.
Furthermore, hotswapping code is possible, meaning that you can change code to see what changes as you do it.

Finally, Java and C++ are relatively similar (inb4 /g/entlemen go nuts) and are easy to learn from the other.
>>
>>51894121
If your final goal is C++, do not learn anything else. Start with that.

Hello /g/, I'm looking into browsing the deep web for the very first time.

My reason? Just simply curious to see what is on there. I'm aware that I will most likely come across porn, gore, drugs and other illegal stuff. No, I am not going to be making any purchases at all.

Do any anon's on this board have any tips on how you can stay extra safe while surfing the deep web?

/g/ any tips on getting my reaction images under 1kb?
I've been resizing using imagemagick so the largest dimension is 150px as I believe that's the largest dimension a thumbnail can be on 4chan (OP thumbnail limit is 250px?)
For the simple black and white ones I can do +dither -colors 2 -type bilevel and that reduces them substantially (+dither helps a lot keeping it smooth/not speckled)
and also pngcrush -brute to compress them further. in near all the reaction images the png is smaller than gif
For coloured images it's much harder. When there's ~6 primary colors in an image I need to do -colors 9 or more just to get near-accurate colors and by that time it will always be at least 1.2kb
The reaction images I'm testing are cartoon/comic, I believe it would be too difficult/impossible with real human pictures as there would be too many colors + too much information lost on resizing+color removing to get a tiny file
To try make it easier I opened some of my reaction images in gimp and replaced all (for example) green colors to a single green, all blues to a single blue, etc. so there was only 6 colors and I think that helped but I tried so many different options I'm not sure if it's true. plus I put each single color in a new layer and went to colors > info > colorcube analysis and it said each layer was 'only one unique color' and so I had 6 layers with a unique color each and then I merge them all and suddenly it reports there's 20 unique colors.

The language in your picture is Javascript, you might start with that if you want to make websites. If you want to make desktop software it's strictly reserved for enterprise now, you wouldn't want to get into that.

You use Windows rather than Linux
You use MPC-HC with madVR rather than mpv
You use uTorrent 2.2.1 rather than qBittorrent
Chrome rather than Failfox
MeGUI rather than FFmpeg
QAAC rather than Opus

This is how you avoid the /g/ botnet.
