Just to clarify, he doesn't want to shut down the internet and plunge us into 1984 like people think he does. He only wants to shut down internet in countries like Iran, syria, etc
>>
>>51898778
Sounds like a plan
>>
>>51898778
Then just shut down the internet in US and everybody is happy.

I am diving into the world of database design and I am still learning but I was wondering if there are any good resources that shows you how to make common databases. Like a full-blown human resources database from scratch and explaining everything on the go.

So my external hard drive just took a fall. Roughly 3 feet and onto carpet.

It's not mounting and it's making a beeping noise every second. Not the click of death.

I jimmied it slightly up against my ear and the insides seem to be intact so this leads me to believe that a head is simply stuck on the platter.

That seems to be the most likely explanation just from what I've heard about the specific noise and the fact that the fall wasn't exactly big enough for a head to bend.

But this is also obviously mechanically the most fixable. So idk. I need sobriety. This data loss won't be the death of me but I really, really would like to save it. And no I'm not going to pay somebody 1k for something I can likely do myself.

Anyone have any clue as to the likelihood that this is what I think it is?

I know once I dismantle it it probably won't be able to be recovered even professionally.

If the head is seized on the platter, will shaking it to release the head completely destroy all the data?

I've heard stories of people shaking the head off and the drive working for just enough time to transfer data.

Also, NSA has planted backdoors in Intel and AMD chips. If the only truly secure option now is raspberry + snowdenOS?
>>
>>51898032

Asus C201 (ARMv7) + libreboot + ATH9K_HTC net. Debian has an armhf port done that works fine. XFCE. Totally blobless.

Broadcom/rasp is not a good base.
>>
>>51897997
I doubth they put backdoors there, code has been audited and there's rule not to shit where you eat
>>51898032
>raspberry
>closedsource bootloader
>binary blobs everywhere
rpi isn't really an option
but there are some thruly opensource machines with ARM cores
