If a movie showed actual working current hacking techniques the filmmakers would violate government law and get sued/sent to jail

Welcome to /fg/lt/, or as I've recently taken to calling it, /fg+lt/. We are always open to users of all levels, including absolute beginners.

There are four ways to try GNU/Linux, you can:

0) Install a GNU/Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
1) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU/Linux experience".
2) Dual-boot GNU/Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about GNU/Linux)
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with GNU/Linux

Before asking, please search for answers to your questions in resources.

Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.

Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe WINE can make up for it.

When installing Debian, is there any good reason to NOT use netinst, aside from not having a stable internet connection on the machine you're going to install it on?

Get rid of the "literally" in future pls, it is triggering my autism

Before you get in any whatcuck/what.cd faggotry for other trackers remember you can get in PTP using CG and BiB and BTN doesn't recruit atm. & you really don't need 90% what.cd if you have rutracker.

Not sure what private trackers are all about?
The mission of /ptg/ is to promote the highest possible standards of tracker service by providing members with opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its members.

>Rating
If you like a setup, let that person know. If you see a poor setup, offer them advice and criticism. Giving mere numerical ratings does not help much. Not rating others will highly decrease the chance of your setup being rated.

Not so sure about the consultant. I've seen excellent ones (usually senior devs who where about to retire and did it as a part-time gig) and some very very mediocre ones.
>>
>>53716865
1. i have no idea what this is supposed to tell me.
2. what, in your opinion, is the difference between a developer and a programmer?
3. have you ever met a consultant in real life?

in my experience, consultants are hired to review and fix shit code. so if your picture refers to the fun these groups have, i'm not so sure. if it refers to the economic wealth that comes with either, consultants only make more money than devs if they freelance and then only if they're any good. and the hours are worse as well.

still, i'm not sure what the picture is trying to tell me.
>>
